The stupid Steinbrenner has spoken:

When it was pointed out that Yankees captain Derek Jeter was building a large multimillion dollar home in Tampa last year, Steinbrenner said he wasn't singling out any individual.

"I was just saying, maybe they were riding the wave of '09 a little too much, and it happens sometimes," Steinbrenner said. "This year in spring so far, from what I've seen and what I've been told, they've come in with a real, new drive and determination — the kind they had in '09."

So Jeter was too busy building a house and relaxing last year to focus on winning. This is Jeter we're talking about.

What a dummy, this Hank. He even looks stupid. Thank goodness for Hal, if the Steinbrenner family must stay in control.

This is the way sports, and humanity, should be. Too bad you didn't make this a new thread for general viewership. Perhaps it would have quieted some of the knuckleheads here who think being a sports fan means being rude, vulgar, and obnoxious.
