I would explain myself further, but this is a forum and I kind of forgot what I wanted to say so.... here's some positive stuff. I hope that you will be successful while playing OOTP and be the best manager/general manager or whatever your doing in your game.

I have a hard time believing you forgot what to say when you were able to capture the "chump" part of my post that was only up for about 30 seconds before I edited it. Now I have to apologize for calling you a name, but hell, I could've accidentally said a lot worse

I'm 41 and have been playing baseball games on the computer for 20+ years. Started with Front Page Sports baseball, moved on to High Heat, saw OOTP on the Internet and have been following/playing off and on for many years now.

I'm 27, from Argentina and I've been playing OOTP on/off for about 10 years now. I've always loved simulation games, playing football (soccer) games since I was 10. I started to follow baseball after reading Moneyball when I was around 16 and found OOTP shortly after that.

Side note: being from Argentina, I never went to a baseball game. But now I'm in Japan and may go to my first one either this week or the next.

66 years old. I was a huge Milwaukee Braves fan back in the day. Was gutted when they moved but following the Brewers is a blast.
Been enjoying OOTP since I can remember. Favorite memory is the old Earl Weave baseball game for the pc......a game well ahead
of it's time. They tried an Earl Weaver II but it was awful.

Comparing smartphones and tablets to books in this context is a complete false equivalency.

53. Started way back in the day with electronic vibrating football games. Have no idea how young I was when I got my first set, but it was definitely pre-teen. Was customizing even then when I would take my mom's and sister's fingernail polish (only the colors that struck me as realistic) and paint the football figures on helmets, jerseys and pants in and effort to create fictional teams. Actually, looked really good because the polish had a nice shine to them. Anyway, I was hooked on creating fictional sports leagues long before computer sports games but man did I take to it like a duck to water. Still do and OOTP is truly one of the best of them.

When I was a kid my dad was in the Navy and stationed at Yokosuka in Japan. We used to go to *** games all the time! Definitely a different experience going to a game in Japan versus a game in the US.

In mid 1960s played SOM with a couple high school friends. In 1980s played in mail order SOM league for a few years while in the Air Force. In 2000s played in SOM computer league for a few years (sent team instructions to commissioner who played out the games). Funny I never played out a game on the SOM computer version except if I made playoffs and then played games vs opponent via internet. 8 years ago looked for a career historical game because I wanted to learn more about the players my dad and especially my uncle told me about. Tried about 4 or 5 games, it came down between Pure Sim and OOTP and ended up here. Very glad I ended up here but disappointed to see Pure Sim go away.

I am 49. Been playing OOTP since '15 (I was an OOTP late bloomer )

I have played *deeeep breath*
Tony LaRussa Baseball, Triple Play Baseball, World Series Baseball all for Sega Genesis.
Bases Loaded, Bases Loaded 2, Little League World Series, RBI Baseball 2, Baseball Stars for Nintendo
Earl Weaver Baseball on friend's computer, complete with printout of box scores (dont remember what kind of computer he had).

I love OOTP because of it's depth and being able to bring up my favorite old Royals teams!

51 and I started with All Star Baseball (with the spinner), progressed to Statis Pro Baseball, then the computer games. I thought FPS Baseball was the ultimate, then I discovered OOTP 3 and have been a devotee ever since.

Maybe I'll grow up one day.

Lots of fellow Generation Xers here!

I'm 43, live in Chicago. I actually grew up on the "faster sports" like football (my first love) and basketball (my second). Sadly, baseball never appealed to me as a kid and I so regret that. Needless to say, my sports games of choice were the Nintendo Tecmo Super Bowl, Lakers vs. Celtics, the early John Madden games for the Genesis, etc. I did play Super Bowl Sunday for the Commodore 64 (probably the first type of sports sim game I'd ever seen). I didn't start to play serious computer sports sim games until the Sierra Front Page Sports Football Pro games in the mid 90s. Only recently (the past 15 years or so) did I learn to appreciate the beauty and elegance of the game of baseball. And so I started playing some old school baseball games like the RBI Baseball series for the NES, the Ken Griffey Jr. games. And that kind of led me all the way to OOTP Baseball. I'm a big Bo Jackson fan and a few years ago I had read an article by one of the OOTP Baseball folks (can't remember who) that was running a hypothetical simulation as to what would have been had Bo not gotten injured. I had never heard of OOTP until I had read that article. And from there, I discovered this website/community and the rest is history. Baseball now sits alongside equally with Football as my 2 favorite sports.

EDIT: I had to look this up. It was an article by Brad Cook. THIS was how I discovered OOTP! I had no clue such a wonderful thing even existed until I read this: http://blog.ootpdevelopments.com/tal...uld-have-been/

I'm 44 and have been playing baseball games/sims as far back as "M Network Baseball" (at least I think that's what it was called) for the Atari.
I've played Baseball Simulator 1000, the Bases Loaded series up to the High Heat series on pc. When I discovered OOTP, my first thought was, "why am I just learning about this NOW?". Now I play mostly fictional leagues, one of which I'm constantly fine-tuning.
