Retired vs Delete Player options
Hi again. Thanks to everyone for being so helpful while I try to struggle through getting a league set up. General overview. Starting in 1946, historic players based on 1 yr imported stats. Players have to have min 50 AB or 30 IP to be eligible to play in the league that year. It takes a lot of time to manually go through and filter these players out but I am willing to do it.
This is where I have a question. For the first year I don't think it will matter if I choose delete player or retired player, since I am assuming the player will come back in 1947 with either option, however, for later years I am concerned. Say a player meets the above qualifications for 1946, does not for 1947 and then does for 1948. When 1947 comes around and this player does not meet qualifications, should I retire him and then unretire him in 1948 in order to keep his career stats in place for this league, or if I delete him, will he re-import in 1948 and the stats get added to his career total? Thanks in advance, New commish |

I've never played in this manner, so I'm talking through my baseball cap as it were, but I will opine this: Deleting is abrupt and final. Then when you re-import the guy, can't you just see statistics someplace getting gafarbled up? If not his own, then the team's or league's? I would retire and unretire instead.
