Separate VORP requirements in automatic HoF induction

I'm not the biggest fan of the automatic HoF induction system in the game, as I feel it turns an HoF into just a list of people who have reached milestones, but it's simple and works great for simming leagues.

My only problem with it is the VORP requirement of 700. It makes sense for batters, where 700 is a good measurement of excellence and one can get in through other ways if they don't meet it, but in pitching--especially dead-ball era pitching--a 700 VORP is much easier to get. As a result, I have somewhere around 90 position players in my 1871-2011 HoF, but 190 pitchers.

Especially for such a good equivalent to WAR when WAR isn't an option to require for the HoF, could there be an option for separate VORP requirements between batters and pitchers, so that the HoF won't be too easy to get into for pitchers, but won't be such a high standard for batters?
