League Ideas, and how to go about them
Backstory: During WW2, professional baseball is effectively shut down. After the war, a new league featuring free agency is created and most former MLB players just ship. Within a few year the MLB has folded and the new league flourishes.
Setup: I started a historical league in 1942, however set the starting year to 1947. Released all the players, deleted all the teams (keeping their historical ID's for player records) and created my single division, 14 team league. Held a draft, filled in two levels of minors with created players, and we're good to go.
Questions:
Is there anyway I can add five years of age to these players easily? I don't mind the way it is, but it might be nice.
Should I import historical rookies? I don't plan on expanding the league. So, when 1998 comes around, will there be 30 teams worth of rookies coming into my league? Will that screw anything up? I don't mind having some fictional players, this is alternate reality after all, so would it be easier to skip the historical rookies? Recalc is off, I don't want to "know" whose going to be good. I'd like some parallels to real life though.
