me, too

Some trades work, some don't. However, I don't have enough information to say with certainly what don't.

The most recent trade I tried that did not work involved:

trading a major leaguer off my active roster for a minor leaguer. (I don't remember what level.) No cash, no draft picks. I did have space on my 40 man roster, even without losing my guy. What other details do you want?

I'll go see if I can find some other trades that either fail or succeed.

minor variation

So I demoted the guy I was trying to trade from the active roster to AAA. Shopped him, got the same offers. Picked the same guy (from the other team's AAA roster) and then tried the trade. Still crashed.

Also, yesterday I emailed my zipped files to markus as per his earlier post in this forum. Should I try to FTP them as well?

FWIW--

I haven't had this problem so long as I'm having the AI do the roster moves (although subsequent non-40-man-roster trades where I'm manually arranging the roster have also worked, the AI settings seem to have resolved whatever problem was there).

I zipped my files and sent them to Markus. In my case, he correctly diagnosed the problem as having a full rookie league. Which is odd, since I can't imagine why a trade of a major leaguer and a AAA guy would effect the rookie league, but nevertheless, when I released a bunch of rookie league guys, thus freeing up space there, then the trade went through with no crash. I've got roster moves manual and have "minor league signings and releases" set to the AI. However, Markus tells me its really a typo and that the AI will not release minor leaguers.

Which seems like a problem for those of use who don't want to worry about the minor leagues. And also, has it always been this way. Since I started playing OOTP about three years ago, I have always set the minor leagues to AI control and I don't ever remember having this problem before. I seem to always recall about 25 guys on each team and only rarely did I make any changes to the minor league personnel, letting the AI figure out who to promote and who to demote, etc.

Isn't there a way to let the AI handle all things minor league? Of course, I still want the ability to override and I want to handle the amateur draft and I want to be able to promote and demote freely with my AAA team, but I don't want to have to watch my rookie league and periodically have to release a bunch of half star 28 year olds. This should be easy enough for the AI to do. Right?
