Schedule problems in Historical simulation
So I am trying to remain historically accurate with the precise date when the National League started in 1876, the players, and finally the finances and roster count. When the computer generates a schedule however, the games are scheduled consecutively as shown below. During the inaugural draft, all the teams (including mine) have drafted a starting pitcher and a relief pitcher. If my starting pitcher pitched that many games consecutively his arm would fall off. Is there a way to spread out the games over the course of the summer months beginning in April and lasting until August or so?

Sorry that no one responded to this. Yes, that's the problem using the generated schedules. In the mods section you'll find a collection of 19th century as played schedules that can be imported.

Launch OOTP and load your game. Go to File > Settings and on the Interface tab the first dropdown item is Current Skin. Choose OOTP Classic to get the skin you see in the images earlier in this thread. It also notes restart recommended. Translation: It's recommended that you restart

Actually back then a pitcher would be expected to start many games consecutively. He would be lucky to have a relief pitcher. Most times it was just a regular fielder. Plus keep in mind pitchers were throwing different then. Pitchers weren't throwing 95 mph fastballs all the time and the pitching rules were different.
However it does help to use the historical schedules as they do help since its what the real pitchers faced. |
