Update on BZ 2029 (Pre-1901 Historical Leagues can not be created)
I have updated my OOTP to v9.2.13 and now I can't get a league to start in 1871. I just downloaded the Mac version to see if it was my machine and I had the exact same problems. It appears that the program is now using some bad combination of the hard-coded parts plus the Lahman files. In so doing, it creates a league with two sub-leagues. One league has 0 teams and the other league has 9 teams. Since the league is historical, these can't be adjusted.
I searched and I believe that this has been reported and tracked as BZ 2029. So I'm wondering if there is an update on this and if a patch/fix is upcoming. Jean |

There has been no change to this item as of yet. There will be no more patches for OOTP 9, but it may or may not be fixed for OOTP 10. I'm sorry that I couldn't give you better news.

Hmm....that doesn't seem a reasonable approach. This worked when I first had OOTP - 9.1.x, and with the latest patch, it stopped working. So a published feature of OOTP9 no longer works. You are essentially forcing me to upgrade to OOTP10 to get a feature that is supposed to work in OOTP9 (and did before you broke it with one of the patches).
EDIT: Removing the Historical_Database.odb file allows the league creation to work, so there is a workaround. So we're good to go in OOTP9. Thanks to BaseballMan for pointing out that this is a workaround. Jean Last edited by jduteau; 04-07-2009 at 02:03 AM. |
