Ok. Just seems everything else gets moved to tech support. Seems there are PBP things being posted in tech support so it seems a bit redundant. Battists and others are always saying to post problems in T.S. so it may cause a bit of confusion this way not to mention people coming into this forum and seeing this thread right on top then assuming they can post other problems in this forum. |

Saw an error in a suspension news item today.
The text said "The suspension of catcher Santo Cornaro did not sit well the the San Francisco Giants.", but the Giants are not in my league. There also seemed to be an extra " in the 4th paragraph. The text includes a quote from the plater saying "That's bull."" if that helps at all. |

I suppose it will be moved if it is better off in the Tech Support Forum. Until then, I will continue to look here for errors that need fixing. |

Just had a weird one. I'm Boston, visting Detroit down 5-4, 2 outs in the top of the ninth. I load the bases, then Zeke Bonura hits a single, drives in two runs but the runner at first is thrown out at third.
the PBP text reads, "Zeke Bonura delivers a 2 run RBI!!! Detroit wins the game 5-4" Luckily it was just a typo, the game continued and my closer closed out our 6-5 win in the ninth. But I thought for a minute I'd been cheated out of a win by a bug. Prob should have a look at this. |

There's a news story with the subject line
" Punishes Pair for Fighting" The league name is missing there, obviously. |

Here's a screenshot.
Marks is also a pitcher and not a 3B, but that's already reported. |

This has been fixed by removing the token and replacing it with the work "League". In some cases I still used the full name of the league (National League, American League) as it works properly. Only the league abbreviation token is broken. The postion problem has to be fixed by Markus. We need tokens for Player Position #1 and Player Position #2. Right now it only picks up the position for player #1 and repeats it for player #2. As a workaround, I took out the player position token. It should clear up the problem with the next patch release. Thanks for catching this and posting it.
I checked the Text Database and the "f" for "for" was there. Everything looked OK in the Database. Maybe it is something with the spacing in the token conversions. I'll put it in the bug report. |

I just wanted to say thanks for all the work (and quick fixes) that the PBP group has done. I am looking forward to the next patch to see these changes.

Here's an example of the PbP producing the unbelievable. I guess that a lot of programing would be required to make the PbP ballpark specific, but I hope it can be done in a future OOTP version.
"it hit on the warning track and bounced up over the fence." destroys any suspension of disbelief when the fence turns out to be the Green Monster. Some fence....... some bounce.... Ian |
