Smile Where did these Team nicknames come from?

I've looked over on the A's and B's of the team nicknames list and there are some there that I never would've thought of. Are most of these real team names? And where did the rest of them come from? Because most are really good but some are just flat out bizarre.

If you do a search on Yahoo! or Google for team nicknames and can find a list of College Mascots/Nicknames, many of them are seen on this website. Not sure the exact site though and am too lazy to look right now.

Who knows where most of those come from. I'm still wondering how a team from Fort Wayne, IN could have a name like Kekiongas. I mean, what the heck is a Kekionga? Some kind of tree or something?

It is a Miami Indian term for "Blackberry Patch", the name of a large tribal settlement.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Well, that explains that.
