Quote:
The sole area of concentration of the Biographical Committee is to figure out who the major league players (and managers) have been throughout history, and when they were born and died. For example, every once in a while, that committee will come up with research which concludes that two 19th century players with a common surname were actually the same guy, so the grand total of major leaguers is reduced by one. I've been following the work of this committee and their counts of major leaguers for the past fifteen years. The challenge for us on the OOTP thread at this point is to know whether we are working with a total list of major leaguers. In other words, does the sum of the players covered by Facepack plus those listed by tnfoto in his Missing Players List now equate to the Biographical Committee's count (especially since baseball-reference seems to be missing a few players)? I'm sure that tnfoto doesn't have time to figure that out at the moment, but it would be something worth checking at some point. Last edited by Cusick; 06-06-2017 at 09:20 AM. Jimmy Yacabonis
This photo shows Yacabonis in a Baltimore Orioles uniform. The photo previously posted showed him in a Frederick Keys uniform.
P.S. At last, mlb.com emerged with its official Yacabonis photo in an O's uniform, which is shown instead of the previous one. Last edited by Cusick; 06-16-2017 at 08:46 AM. Reason: Add P.S. |

Nik Turley
When Nik debuted on June 11, I posted a photo of him in a White Sox uniform. He should have been shown in a Twins uniform. My bad.

Cameron Perkins - Phillies
It was a long struggle for Cameron "Cam" Perkins to go from collegiate star at Purdue University to eventually reach the majors yesterday with the Phillies, at the age of 26 years, 9 months. There were times when it looked like his career might stall out at the AA level, but he made it.

Alan Busenitz
Still haven't seen Busenitz in a Twins uniform on the mlb.com website, but here is a photo of him as a Twin from www.startribune.com.

Ian Parmley
Here's an action shot of Parmley in a Toronto Blue Jays uniform which can serve as a place-holder until a better view of his face in a major league uniform comes along.
