Can't get Pitcher to Pitch????

Hi,

Playing single player game with latest patch.

I have a very talented SP and can't get him to pitch, he is not injured or suspended, so I am clueless. I have him as my #1 starter in the majors and, mid season, he just stopped pitching, I tried to force him to start, but my middle relivers are starting when the other 4 starters are tired, I tried leaving him as the only starter, but a MR started.

Finally I traded him, got a lot back, and it is the middle of next season and he is sitting in that teams rotation as the 5th started with no stats.

He is a great pitcher making 8 mil a season, why would he just not start?

Thanks

Is this an MLB roster set or a fictional league? If the roster set, did you start your saved game using an early version (near release of OOTP 9?) It had some issues with pitchers being semi-retired inappropriately.

Thanks

I started a new game from the main menu, so it is a standard game, modern times. If he retired, would he still sit there in the rotation for a few years, or would he be gone?

I am interested to see if they try to sign him to an extension?

any help would be great,

thanks

You selected "New 2008 Major League Game" or "New Custom Game"? Which version were you running when you started the league?

Under your manager settings, is the AI set to manage your lineups and pitching depth charts?

To verify, it says version 9.2.13 in the bottom-left of your screen when you start the game?

Hi,

yes I am using 9.2.13. I am managing my own lineups and rotation, I have the 3b both on the deapth chart and in the line up. I had the SP as my #1 starter, I tried him in the pen, as a closer, I could not get him to pitch.

my 3b who I traded is not playing for his new team either, but he is on their active roster. Is there a way to fix this, or do I have to check if my players are still playing every week or two??

Thanks for any help

Check that 7 day lineup settings aren't interfering with changes you made on the lineup screen.

Have you tried playing out a game with him as the starter? Weird.

I don't think it is the seven day lineups because I have even changed it to let computer manage my depthcharts and lineups.

Also, this continued when I traded both players to computer controlled teams, still on active roster andin lineup or rotation, but not playing

Can you zip up your league files and FTP them to us as per the instructions in the How To FTP Your Files To Us thread and then tell us who the player and team is that you can't get to start.
