GM vs GM/Head coach
Hello!
New to this game, have played EHM before i should say. My first impressions of FHM is great. I have a question regarding GM-mode. I understand from some research that there are many things that can not be done when not playing as a head coach. But is there something i can do with lines or tactics? For example lock player to specific line, make som tactical tweaks for team or player? Many thanks in advance! |

Yes, you are correct.
The Head Coach is responsible for making lines and setting tactics. That's not the GM's job. If there's something you don't specifically want to do, I would still be GM/Coach and set the Assistant to do what you don't want to do. |

The GM doesn't get to make coaching decisions. If you want that control, you need to play as GM/HC - and that's all I'm pointing out. You could set the players you want, and then have your Assistant fill in the rest.
There's a good set of options under Manager -> Options for what you can control or maybe what you want your assistant to do as well. I would suggest playing as GM/HC and playing around with your options if you want Roster/Tactics control. |

Thanks Adam. Have thought about it and i am a GM rather then a coach. Have read the manual for the game and under player roles... "The Player Roles system (not to be confused with tactical roles) allows a team's management to communicate to the player and coaching staff what they expect a player to do within the larger context of the team. The player will attempt to meet those expectations (even if he isn't happy with them), and the coaches will try to use him in a role-appropriate way. Roles are broken into two classifications, Major and Supplementary. The major role expresses the player's primary on-ice job; the Supplementary role is a little more indicative of his general status on the team" Does this communication from the GM translate in some way to the coach in game? Supplemenatary, is that something that can be done in contract talks with players only? A couple of questions. Again thanks in advance! |
