...oh no... ...Max Scherzer for the Bat Chain Pullers. Seriously, the stars are aligned against the Red Raiders... Oh, and I believe I figured out the heart of the offensive problems for Huntley in this series. Cleanup hitter Barry Bonds, added as DH before the season, hit .277/.398/.486, clubbed 31 homers, and lead the P432 AC in plate appearances (758), runs (130), RBIs (122), and walks (124). His postseason batting line through the first 4 games? .000/.125/.000 Yep, that's no hits and 2 walks in 16 plate appearances. Ugh.

Hmmmm…! Mmmmmaybe the Coons are the favorites. Mmmmmaybe.
The Accountants have also reached the LCS in four games, but were shut out by Houston in Game 1.

I've been so busy with work all week, I decided not to check in on my Raccoons until today so I wouldn't be distracted. As expected, they finished 2nd to the Scottsdale Scorpions who won 123 games. We won 111 and went 9-14 vs the Scorpions in a 20 team league.
For the playoffs, I decided to go with those who had a great year as opposed to those with the best ratings and it's paying off so far. So far in the playoffs, the pitching has been great. We swept a really good team, the Malibu Waverunners (112 W) in the division round, outscoring them 21-2. In the LCS so far, we're ahead of the Scorpions, 3-0, outscoring them 17-5 which is quite the shock. The upcoming game looks lie a bit of a mismatch with Clarkson (who didn't have a such a good year) against Pedro. Having a team this good down 3-0 doesn't make me feel that confident, but hopefully we'll hang on and go to the WS. If we make it that far, we'll have yet another tough opponent (+397 RDiff) called the DownEast Quack_Quack MuddaFly. Some of these team names... Good luck to everyone lucky enough to still be in the hunt!

In P.445 Game 5 of the DS, at home, down 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th (and 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th), the Xenos tied it up against Brad Lidge, Billy Wagner, and Mike Schooler of the Black Cats to bring the game into extras. Joe Nathan pitched 3 innings of scoreless relief and Kirby Puckett brings home the winning run in the 12th. Bedlam at the Company Fields.

The Colonels won a tough 5-game set against the Expos, and advance to face the West Coast Parole Violators. WC won 110 games in the regular season and split 6 with us, each team winning 3 at home. Oddly enough, all six games were played in September.

Not surprisingly, Clarkson and company got clobbered and we lost 12-3 in game 4, but Keefe (who had a great year) combined with Johnson for a 2-0 win so it's on to the WS!

Just logged in for the first time to see...the Frogs have been swept in the DS by the Coffeyville Golden Tornado. Wasn't expecting that, but they won 3-2, 5-0, 2-1. So, yup, the Frogs managed to plate only 3 runs in the entire series.
In G1, the Frogs were down 3-1 in the 9th and mounted a comeback that fell a bit short. Errors by Ripken Jr. and Pudge Rodriguez loomed large in that game. In G2, we were trailing 1-0 going into the 9th inning. Then they put up 4 more runs off of Satchel Paige and Christy Mathewson. The Frogs had 9 hits, but couldn't break through. And another 3 errors (Mathewson, Ichiro, Yelich). In G3, the Frogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead on SUPER Ichiro's "leading off with style," but couldn't do anything else against Kevin Brown. Then, Coffeyville's SUPER Ichiro had a go-ahead RBI single in the 8th inning. It was Satchel Paige involved yet again in the bullpen's struggle. Good luck to Coffeyville as they are really due for a title. They got even luckier when Exeter took down Singapore in the other DS. The Tassie Thunder also pulled a major upset of Battery Park City in the other bracket, so it's Tassie vs Westvleteren over there.

The Beltways are going to Diamond - after a 4.5% chance of even making the playoffs, the Beltways won the Wild Card game behind Walter Johnson (turns out, scoring six runs in the 1st was plenty enough support for Walt), then winning the Division Series in convincing fashion over the #1 seed Oakley Benders, 3-1.
We are now tied in the LCS, 1-1, having stolen away home field advantage with a Game 1 victory. We play the same team, Barks Flyers, that we lost the division title and game 163 to. Should be an even series! The Bibra Lake Quendas have also been promoted, back to Gold. They too won their Division Series by a 3-1 margin, over the wild card Las Vegas Outlaws. We have defended home field in the LCS with two wins over The Bobs, and after dropping Game 3, a Game 4 victory sees us one win away from a spot in the World Series. Jon Duplantier has been sneaky good for us all season, and he has set the tone for both playoff series with Game 1 victories. He'll now get the chance to clinch the LCS for us on the road tonight.

POR 4, LM 5
POR 3, LM 2 LM 1, POR 2 LM 4, POR 5 Coons up 3-1! Both closers have blown a game. I am so happy with my Lee Smith. But the biggest news is actually that the 141-21 Washington Explorers *lost* in five games in the LDS! The winner of this series will instead play the 108-54 St. George Slammers.

We lost Game 5, 6-2, Big Walt dropping it to Ben Sheets.
I also opened my reward pack for the Live Angels mission. I am very, very, very, very sorry.

Still better than cease to exist.
I need to buy lottery tickets tomorrow! I'll probably put this one up for auction. I'm not likely to use it, the Live Indians reward gets me nowhere, and I could use the points to upgrade at catcher.

Lost in the Sub-League series 4-1... at least I get to make my perfect league debut next season (I think)!

The WS has been a good one so far. The Raccoons were down 4-0 in the 1st game and finally took the lead in the bottom of the 8th and won it 5-4. In the 2nd game, DownEast was down 4-2 in the 9th and got 3 runs to win it in the 9th.
Game 3 was Keefe vs Rixey. My team always seems to have a hard time vs Rixey (both cards - this was the 96) and this game was no different. We managed to score only once on a Suzuki single, but that was enough as we won 1-0. Now it's Clarkson vs 97 Alexander. I might start someone else instead of Clarkson since he's not done well this year nor in his only playoff start, but I'm not sure yet.

Doubledays completely laid an egg in the playoffs once again as they are swept by the Grannies. Owlz put up a little fight against a strong opponent.
The Wild card Newark Eagles won 8 straight playoff games and made it to the World Series to face the heavily favored Glendale Golden Grizzlies. Congrats to both!

How are you doing this? I am lucky to get a Diamond player in a Diamond pack.
