Stupid Question--league financials.
I've messed around with starting a fictional league recently. Was planning on starting in or around 2012. I also tried starting a MAL league using actual MLB setup and team with fictional players. Each time I do this, before playing a game I looked at the league financial page. The first thing that hit me square in the forehead was the listing for average profit. The average profit ranges anywhere from negative 16 million to negative 19 million.
This is default out of the box. The non MAL league I created was a small 12 team league with only 3 levels of minors. It like the MAL League showed a massive negative average profit.
I've never played a game in either of these leagues, because I'm too worried it will be a waste when every team is bleeding money at the end of the season.
But, I'm not a financial guy. I don't manage or gm, I just watch a league. I jus want things to flow like real life. Free agents to sign, teams to have money to sign them and teams to have the money to keep players etc. So, should I be worried when I see that huge negative average profit, or does that work itself out? Thanks.
