For what it's worth, I agree with (what I believe is) the intent of the OP. OOTP is a fantastic game that has incredible attention to detail.

We, as a community, freak out when there is some minor error in the stats of a minor league player form the 1920's (ignoring the fact this game is amazing to have such a player in the first place).

I think the point the OP was making is that details are important in all aspects of the game, including the marketing of it...
