Ask Computer Coordinator for play

The football sims I've played in the past can be highly complex in terms of selecting match ups, play selection etc.

You can let the computer select the plays in game (I'm assuming) but traditionally, you never get to see the what play the computer chooses.

How about this: instead for letting the computer select the play and go.

Have the option:

Ask the computer (or offensive/defensive coordinator) for play.

In the dialog box, you would see the play chosen and be given the option:

Accept or Reject?

For those of you familiar with Earl Weaver Baseball, this would be like the option to Ask Earl The computer would offer up a suggestion based on Earl Weaver's strategy.

If you can customize your coaching staffs' preferences, the play choice would be tailored to the coach.

Anybody else think this is a good idea, or am I crazy? I just think a lot of the stats based football games I've played can get REALLY complicated. Having this feature with coaches that you tailor to your team (which would make the feature dynamic) would make things more fun/less complicated.

There will be some sort of "Ask Coach" button. I don't know exactly what form it will take. It may be the Yes/No process you describe, it may be like Madden where it highlights a play or it may be something else.

It will be in there in some form or another though.

That sounds great! Something like this will really help with the playability factor, so to speak.
