How to disable FaceGen
You can disable FaceGen completely. This can save some memory, if you're not interested in FaceGen, but it's more commonly necessary when video card problems prevent you from loading the game.
To fully disable FaceGen, you can do one of the following: a) Locate the folder My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 8\data\facegen if you're using OOTP 8 or My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\facegen if you're using OOTP 2007 and rename it to \facegenx - OOTP will not find the facegen data and will not load them. or b) Open the preferences dialog in OOTP and disable Facegen using the pull down box. or c) If you cannot start OOTP, you can also change the config file manually: 1. Open the Windows Start menu, click on "Run", enter %appdata%\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 8\data\config if you're using OOTP 8 or %appdata%\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\config if you're using OOTP 2007 and hit Enter. This should open a folder with some config files in it. 2. Open the "app" file with Notepad or another text editor. 3. Look for the line that looks like this: disable_facegen 0 4. Change the 0 to a 1, and save the file. 5. Quit OOTP 6. Restart OOTP How to find the "app" file on a Mac The Mac has great file search features, you could for example search for the text "disable_facegen" and you should find the file quickly. Open it in a text editor and proceed with step 3 above. If you cannot find the "app" file: it should be in [User]\Library\Preferences\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 8\data\config if you're using OOTP 8 or in [User]\Library\Preferences\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\config if you're using OOTP 2007.
