One in the Sun--the NHL & the 2015-16 Florida Panthers

So i said, "Okay, i will try my hand at managing a hockey team."
I have been a FLA Panthers fan since they opened up in SoFla all those years ago.
So, this is a real time season that i will be playing.
Vanilla FHM2 will be used in this season, and i will make my reports similar to my other dynasties.
So everyone, lets all be ONE IN THE SUN with the NHL and the 2015-16 FLORIDA PANTHERS!!!

My hockey knowledge is not like my baseball knowledge, but i think i can do the job with this team and try to get this team into the playoffs.
As far as players go, Roberto Luongo is my goalie and is still one of the top goaltenders in the game at age 36.
Aaron Ekblad, who was ROTY last season, should be my go-to guy on defence.
Brian Campbell is very strong at the other defence position.
And even at age 43, Jaromir Jagr is still a force on the ice.
This is going to be very interesting for me, as i try to reach the playoffs with these guys.
Hopefully...i might get some beginner's luck.
Now...i must set my lines and settings and simulate to the start of the Pre-Season!

NHL & FLA Transactions:

Decided to sign Andrej Meszaros to bolster the defence a little.
He couldnt hurt and he looks like a player that can be strong in the wings.

CHI and OTT make a small trade.

9/23 Pre-Season

In the 1st Pre-Season game of the season, the EDM Oilers get a shootout win against the FLA Panthers 3-2 @ BB&T Center.
I usually don't report on exhibition games, but since i have to learn what FHM can do, i though i would report on the game.
Not much to say, except that i must do some more work on hockey fundamentals.

In the 2nd game of a 3 game exhibition series against the ANA Ducks, they give us a 3-2 loss @ BB&T Center.
Third straight game that ended in a 3-2 score.

In the rubber game of this exhibition series, the FLA Panthers again, defeat the ANA Ducks in SoCal 3-1 @ Honda Center.
However, Erik Cole was injured and i will lose him for a few weeks because he couldn't keep his hands to himself.

I didnt expect my FLA Panthers to be anywhere in this preview.
We are not expected to make the playoffs again, but maybe, if i can make a few moves and trades, we can sneak into the Postseason.
Anything can happen in a best of seven series, and who knows?
Maybe...Destiny will shine upon us.
The season officially starts on October 7, but OUR first game isn't until the 10th!
