I would like to see an owner mode in a future version...let me be responsible for hiring and firing GM's and deciding how much money they can spend. Might be fun.

you can do that by delegating and turning on gm-legacy mode. (and, a little restraint)
your asst. gm would make the choices and you have to live with it. a goal is something to reach for -- the tanking thing is something to strive for, if not in the spirit of competition. some of the others listed aren't goals my goal is to sit on my couch all day sunday with a couple bathroom breaks and maybe some food when the stomach growls too much to nap |

I'm a Mets fan so I understand you
Quote:
"Bat washed up past steriod user Cano in the middle of the lineup no matter how bad he hits" "Keep using Diaz as closer no matter how many saves he blows" "Do not make GM look bad by playing the excellent Mcneil at 2B and the great Lugo as closer, after all Brodie sold the farm for washed up Cano and overrated Diaz" 2020 Mets owners goal: "Do not sign the brilliant manager Girardi. Sign Beltran because Brodie wants a puppet and not a manager" |

Owners profit
They do have owners asking for you to make more profit. I forget exactly what the wording is but it has happened to me many times in the past. Probably when you have a "penny pincher" owner. I think they call it "penny pincher". I don't remember because it has been a while since I had a cheap owner.

I gave owner goals another try (by default, I forgot to turn them off), and it is for the last. My owner was miffed I didn't raise attendance to 53,000!
So I checked and saw I was leading the majors in attendance, solidly ahead of the Yankees and Dodgers! Come on guys! There should at least be SOME credibility to owner goals.

I use the owner goals as a sort of handicap. When the team is going good, it often forces me to sign an aging veteran that I would typically just heartlessly let go and replace with a cheaper player. When my team is doing poorly it gives me other ways to keep the owner happy while I try and rebuild a competitive roster. I don't take them too seriously and I don't ever think I've been fired from a winning team for not meeting the goals. They are just some nice "window dressing" where the curtains are kind of strange sometimes.

I thought that maybe he wanted me to build a new stadium but I didn't know how to do it. This happened in challenge mode and I'm not even sure it can be done. I have to look more into it one day.
