Mike Trout not hitting for AVG

in 2022 in my game, and the last 3 years, trout has batted .262, .234, and .260. Insanely far off from what he actually hits. Anyone else have this issue?

Lots of potential factors:

Do you have league evolution on? In particular more/less offense.

The engine has a random chance for players to perform better or worse than their ratings.

Maybe he's starting to age poorly, most players do from 30.

Check his SLG and OPS and compare to his trends, it might be a case of low BABIP.

Is it likely to be anything close to what you are experiencing here? No.
But it isn't inconceivable either.

(If you were playing OOTP in 2016 and you moved forward to 2017 and Miguel Cabrera hit .249- having hit over .300 in 11 of the past 12 seasons- wouldn't you maybe think, hey, something's wrong with the game? Cabrera would not crash this fast, even at age 34. But of course, he did just that.)

I am also in 2022 and Trout is right on par with what we have seen over his career

2019 - .291, 30 HR 84 RBI. 116 BB lead league in OBP .427, 7.6 WAR
2020 - .269, 42 HR 83 RBI. 117 BB, .412 OBP and lead league with 8.6 WAR
2021 - .294, 27 HR, 72 RBI, 92 BB, lead league with .419 OBP and a 7.7 WAR. (he missed 32 games with injury).

He was an All-Star and won the Silver Slugger Award for CF all three years and was named the AL MVP in 2020.

The Angels are not a good team in my league either.

This game is a simulation and does now know names and like BirdWatcher said, we have no idea how he will perform in real life over next 3 years. I bet if you simmed these three years again, you would have different results.

I had a similar issue with Trout and edited his rating to see if he would perform as he has historically and now he is pretty much spot on. You might try that.
