Muskies take Game 1, Spokane takes the series

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Somehow finding a new hero each night, the Spokane Cougars defeated a stout Madison team in five games to become the first ever Tres League champions last week.
The Muskies eked out a one-run, extra-inning win in Game 1, despite Chester Shepard’s 3-for-4 performance for the Cougars. He had one homer and three RBI.
Charles Fanning, Frank Trueblood, Christopher Lewis and pitcher Charles Putman also earned Player of the Game accolades.
Five games, five different key performances. Even scarier as the next season looms -- the average age of those Spokane players was 29 at season’s end.

OOTP4 conversion begins; coach, scout signing to start

Many unsigned scouts and coaches will be eagerly awaiting phone calls from Tres League teams Monday.
The league’s hiring period for minor league managers, talent scouts and hitting and pitching instructors is set to begin Monday.
League owners have begun converting their offices to the Out of the Park 4 format.
Commissioner Steven Offenbaker converted the league file to the OOTP4 format and made the file available to owners Tuesday.
As of Wednesday, some owners had found some difficulty with the new format.
The Gazette was able to compile the following instructions from league posts -- though information is subject to change after the Gazette goes to press.
1. Owners should download the league file as they usually would.
2. A GBC Tres League.lg folder in OOTP4 must be created.
3. Unzip file into the Tres League folder in OOTP4.

Associate program growing

New associate members Chris Case and Mike Stonebraker joined the league earlier this week. Case will be contributing his skills to the already potent Savannah Sharks organization and Stonebraker will work with Fargo.
The two new associate members mark a continuing trend in the Tres League, which is preparing to begin its second season. The league gained its first associate member earlier in the season and the second during the postseason.
With a high ownership turnover rate, the fledgling league’s future owners will likely find a quick home.

League's top pitchers at home for final series
SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Mark Agustin wowed the Tres League with is pitching prowess this season. He won 21 games, but watched the league championship series from his home.
The same went for 12 of the league's 14 winningest pitchers. Only Spokane's Charles Putnam, who earned Player of the Game recognition for one of his outings in the league series, and Jesse Dorst were among the league's best when it came to wins.
Fargo's John Dalrymple, 19 wins, and Hartford's Jose Gamble, 18 wins, rounded out the top three.

League-by-League Dispatches

Great Lakes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — I like to start the trade talks wit other owners. Columbus needs to make some changes. I have contacted a few owners on the ICQ but most of you are unavailable. Lets start talking.
Available Ice Picks: T Garber, T King and more

TULSA, Okla. — Word is slowly leaking from the front office that all communication is down. Sources inside the organization are saying somebody forgot to pay the bills. Management is scrambling to get the problem resolved but as of right now, The Tulsa Drillers are without phone or internet service. Press Agent Kevin Costner was contacted on his way to the car and had this to say, "Right now the office is a bit chaotic - As of right now all are computers are down and it is affecting business. Right now I'm headed to the Starbuck's Internet Cafe, just to answer some emails and stay in communication with the rest of the league. We ARE going to find out who is behind this.

Could IT mastermind Steve Offenbaker, owner of the Austin Rattlers, be the culprit to the Drillers internet problems? Or is it really a lack of attention to business finances on the Drillers part?
Hmmmmmmm....Stay tuned to find out!

DALLAS — The Dallas Destroyers owner Mike Timmons is glad to announce the team will be adding knowledge and experience to the team in the form of Omar Enfuego. Omar is from the Dallas area and recently signed on as an associate to the team and we are glad to have him. The team is excited to add one more brain to help the team in this critical offseason we are heading into and hope that between the owner and GM we can find a way to get the team in the playoffs next season.
Anyone interested in contacting the team about trades can reach Omar at allstarss11@h... or of course you can alway contact me at mt@w... Omar feel free to introduce yourself to the league and league feel free to make him feel welcome. BTW in case I haven't already told you Omar. . .THE
RATTLERS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

COCOA BEACH — On the block: Robert Harper - 3.00 ERA, hate to move him, but have too many good relievers and too few producers. William Estrada -2B - Had a rough season, but out to be better next year.
Bobby Prentice - 2B - .271 AVG, but pushed out by rookie batting in .350's. I'm also open to other suggestions. I'm looking for starting pitching, (aren't we all) or draft picks. Maybe some outfield help, but draft picks preferred.
Let's get talking so we can make some moves when the offseason officially begins.
— Jared Schroeder

EDITOR’S NOTE: Dispatches are taken directly from posts and attributed when the owner’s name is immediatly available. Only posts made after the Monday sim will be included. This is done to be certain all reports are still timely and information has not been made invalid because.
