Game crashes almost every time I try to exit

I don't know what it is, and I've never had it happen before. I guess in the mean time I just have to make sure I save before I exit the game. This has not happened in any previous versions.

when you exit it does a save too... but i have experience what you are speakign of in the past where it borks on exit... and then all you can do is copy the auto-save directory and hope it's recent and useful.

are you playing for a long time? maybe watching movies on pc too? how much ram you got? etc...

it's possible it ran out of room or having to do with teh write-cache. in years past it takes about 2-3mins to finish writing backup after the games says it;s "complete" this is normal behaviour, but it's still writing inthe background... now you go and save those same files and change them and this or that, it needs that much more space to keep everything in order and maintaining data integrity.

movies go into ram and even after done watching and close the program, they are still in teh standby list - which you don't see in the Resource Monitor through windows or the task manager infor... but it's there and it's taking up working room.

look into a program called RAMmap... do not use any function it has!!! only use "clear standby list" or you will bork any program running and may even damage your OS to the point it won't work again.

when i see those types of problems with ootp, i'm typically doing lots of other things on my pc at the same time - even if it doesn't require my attention.

Are you on the most recent patch?

When specifically does it crash, before or after auto-saving the game?

Also, what are your system specs and what programs are you running at the same time as OOTP (if any)?
