New Tournament Modes?

I can't wait to see what lies behind this particular curtain.

Really hoping this is what I've been begging for years and years now. In fact, I even brought it up again yesterday. So hoping we can play tournaments using the historical teams of our choice and the game keeps stats, awards mvp etc. Please

Believe it or not, you were the first person I thought of when I saw this feature listed. I immediately thought to myself "I hope we're finally going to have some of the options for historical tournaments that David Watts has been requesting for years". If we ever do get those tournament options added, I vote we call it "Watts Mode".

I hope the in-game tournaments between club teams works well. National tournaments are cool, but I really want to have a FA Cup style tournament with the teams in my promotion/rel dynasty.

I'm super excited for this as well. I tried kind of doing that with the Associations Feature, so I'm stoked this is getting attention in 19.

I will say that doing tournaments like this will take some manual work, especially if you want to have them schedule games during another league's season. But yes, this was definitely a requested feature

Can tournament games against other leagues count in the regular season standings?

No, tournaments are completely separate from other leagues. But tournament can certainly draw in teams from multiple other leagues.

On the schedule editor does it call for tournament game? What if you changed it too regular season game?

I know you can actually play regular season games against teams in other leagues but it seems that all the game stats stays in the home team's league.

This is awesome news. I have been hoping for this feature also.

Is there any info on the number of teams that could be in a tourney and if any options for single or double elimination?

thanks for adding this. This makes ootp19 a must buy

How is the regular season schedule adjusted (or something) during tournament play?

It will more or less count the same way. Basically, each "game" is assigned to a specific league, and all stats for the game count to that league (whether it be a tournament or a regular league).

Limits are the same as any other tournament, so, like, a lot of teams. And playoff options are the same as they are now (regular, the modified double-elimination, and round-robin).

Currently, there are no changes to the regular season schedule to accomodate a tournament. If you want the tournament schedule to overlap with the regular season schedule, then you're going to need to manually adjust the schedule yourself. Sorry, it gets too complicated with us trying to do that for the million tournament styles that everyone wants to do!

I manually adjust my schedules on a daily basis so that wouldn't be a problem.

Will the record-keeping for tournaments be improved to go along with the new modes?

What is this tournament mode, exactly? Is it only for historical teams? I don't know how feasible it is but it'd be awesome to have something like this for fictional leagues where I can have my 1941 championship team play the latest champion in a duel, or something like that.

It's not only for historical, you can have any teams in your leagues in a tournament. You should be able to do what you're describing.

Wonder how this might work with trying to emulate NCAA conference Tournaments and the CWS? Excited to see
