I'm somewhat surprised the entire feature list hasn't been released yet. Guess that comes day of release.

lol .. lets all be realistic for a moment .. if u cant put a quarter inside it, then it's just not an arcade ... so lets all just agree they are both simulation style games and call it a day lol

Sim, arcade, who cares? I personally refer to OOTP as a sports strategy game, MLB the Show & RBI Baseball are arcade titles to me. But that's just me. If your opinion differs, cool, let's have a beer!

Unfortunately, we must now fight over this for at least 20 posts.

Get the tab ready, it's going to be a long night.

What about people who sim all games in MLB The Show? How can you define it as arcade when playing like that?

Would not and never claimed you would.

It's a sim MODE, just like controlling the player's on-field actions is correctly an ARCADE mode.

People mistakenly have misunderstood "arcade" to refer to realism when that's nothing of the sort. Arcade mode only ever means that the gamer's input is directly affecting the timing and control of the players in the game. Period.

As has been stated many times in this thread, games can and do have multiple modes. Even the greats like FPS, High Heat and Earl Weaver allowed managerial, graphic modes, realistic results and no on-field control of the players. Likewise you could be a joystick jockey and play the same game in arcade mode.

Words have meaning and I'm still not sure why the reality of arcade mode is being perceived as an insult to "The Show" or The Show (italics for titles noted).

The only reason this came up is someone was citing 3d Graphics as being the domain of The Show for looking pretty and OOTP was more about realism. I'm happy Markus and crew don't feel that way and have added the 3D playout of the games in a simulation type game.

You accidentally replied that to me of course, instead of the ones continually asking questions and keeping it going. Glad you and I are on the same page that it's a dead issue!!!

We'll adjust the current rules, but should be open for any non-challenge mode game (may even consider allowing it in challenge mode too, but we'll wait until a few weeks or a month in to make sure it doesn't cause things to go haywire).

Yes, currently in the advanced league options, but we'll add it to the main league functions page in the settings as well, for eligible games (MLB non-challengemode)
