Yikes. Was 10 games under 500 before the "overnight break". Diamond 320 is really testing my nerves.

Pythag says I should only be 2 games under. My pitching is getting absolutely destroyed... even my 2 Diamond pitchers (Kershaw and Snell) and just getting absolutely shelled every game.

Ended up upgrading at 1B by buying Votto and then moved Altuve to RF (why are his OF skills better than his IF skills?!) because Rizzo hasn't even put up a single WAR over 2 whole seasons. I've got Ichiro now as my 4th outfielder who starts every 3 - 5 day in the OF slots. Still getting lots of playing time in.

Next purchase is probably going to have to be a Diamond or Historical Gold SP (Thinking Halladay). I can't keep dropping like a rock like this

ETA.....didn't even check my division before I posted, but there is only 1 team with a winning percentage of over .600 and there is a team I finished tied with in my Gold division last year. Maybe I can hang.
Well, 16-11 and tied for first after the first month. I only added Fregosi to my team between seasons, but the team is playing very well and my schedule hasn't been easy. Interested to see how May goes.

Added a 2nd team playing in a Bronze league. 19-6 and the best record in the league. I did spend $20 on points, clearly been a huge boost in how well the team is playing. But I did get 4-5 really good players in my initial 6 pack. Not going to spend anymore $$$.

Started the day off on a losing streak after ending the yesterday on a losing streak. At least, when I finally won I got points for breaking an 8 losing streak. I consider myself lucky that I am only 1 game below .500 after that stretch.

Leading the division by three games after sweeping the Quantum Condors in a crucial 4-game set! The first three games were won by a single run, the last one the Raccoons were 3-hit, but Goldschmidt hitting a 2-piece off Marcus Stroman was the only tally in a 2-0 win.

Raccoons, Raccoons, Raccoons …!!

Got shifted sideways from S317 to S263. Started the season confident after upgrading a couple positions (Johnny Mize at 1B, shuffled my lineup around to put Davey Johnson at DH so I can have better infield defense, added a better bullpen arm). Am 15-22, with the second-worst record

On the plus side: got 3000 PP for scoring a run in every inning in one of the only games my offense has turned up for. To spend in the AH or on packs, that is the question...

Since you are in Silver, I'm going to assume you've got few golds. You can get 2 decent golds with 3K, or one pretty good one. Fix some weaknesses.

Good advice! But I decided to go packs, as I'm actually pretty happy with most of my lineup, and there were no pitchers I was willing to splurge on.

Pulled Ron Santo in my second pack. I'll find someplace to slot him in...

Nice on the Santo pull. I am getting absolutely routed in Diamond 322. 2nd worst in the league.....but not for long. I did the only thing I could other than hoist the white flag and laid out some cold hard green to get the points to buy Randy Johnson. My staff is beyond ****ty. Not on paper, on paper they should be great but they are getting eaten alive.

Well damn, that is one of those cases where you definitely did better than the AH. Nice pull.

Not at my computer, but I'm guessing that's 10-20k since it's a historical diamond.

35k going on average winning bid.

However, my motto for OOTP19 is only sell duplicates, so as tempting as it is to flip him and swim in perfect points like Scrooge McDuck, I'm keeping him

I usually sell unless I have a place for him on the team but one of the cool things about the game is there are many ways to play.

Since I gloated above, my team has not won a game.

I will now sew my own lips shut.

Larry Dierker fires his 3rd shut out of the season. Bears are doing well so far.

Improve your defence for your stadium settings, your pitching will improve too...both are linked.
