Your lowest rated player
Who is the lowest rated player on your team, and how are they performing? Mine is 54 rated RHP Tyler Thornburg. He is set to MR - Avoid High Leverage.

Niko Goodrum, on the roster mainly because he can play every position on the field except pitcher and catcher and makes a decent pinch runner.

Snelten's really only on the team because he's a lefty.

My lowest rated player is a new late addition....
Went with Joey Godlo (if you've played The Show 18, Gallo was a power hitting monster). He's just a PH.. he's only 2/4 so far with 2 doubles. My lowest batter is: Ketel Marte (66) - .264, 62/257, 14 doubles, 3 triples, 2 HRs, 33 RBIs, 4 SB Can play 2B, 3B, SS, and OF, Lowest pitcher is: SP Marco Gonzalez (66) - 4-10, 4.34 era, 145 IP, 83k, 43 bb Although he is on my hot list, last 3 games: 0-0, 0.86 era, 21 ip, 10k |

Brian Johnson (52), which again proves the old saying that if you are a lefty with any resemblance of skill, there IS a job for you. Otherwise I have no card lower than 63 on the active roster right now.

With how bad some of my decent cards are doing I am contemplating doing a season with all lower cards, just for research purposes.

Omar Narvaez (65) is my backup C and doing AWESOME (.355-1-18). He has been starting for a while, but mostly backing up Mike Lieberthal.
Steve Pearce (69) is my 1B vs LHP and made the ASG in that role (.332-14-43) The other guy who has been up and down but has pitched great is Jordan Hicks (66). He pitched in 11 games and is 2-1 with 2 saves and a 1.20 ERA. I sent him down because my bullpen was wiped out and he needed a rest. But he will be back soon. I have had unbelievable pack luck and some good accomplishments so I've got a pretty stacked team. But I wouldn't be here without those 2 guys. |

I had Erik Gonzalez (54) on my roster for a while. A consummate utility fielder if I've ever seen one, and even a competent batter.
Now Francisco Lindor (98) pulled out of a standard pack took his roster spot, and is currently posting a 74 wRC+. Go figure! The utility role is now - theoretically - filled by J.P. Crawford (66). However, the mad lad is posting a .345/457/590 line, which is good for 185 wRC+. But he's got nothing on Kevin Seitzer (67), who's at 370/452/636 for 209 wRC+ and is the league's current Batter of the Month. All in all, this leads me to suspect that while the top leagues will be occupied by competent coaches for whom money is no object (or who have played long enough to collect a top-of-the-line team), competent coaches who pay attention to their player's stats can do just as well as Mr. Moneybags who picks the roster based on Overall ratings and lets the AI sort out the rest. Chad Pinder (59). Using as a super-sub, has played in about half of the games and has hit about .250 all year with some pop. Was at one point my everyday SS til I could upgrade.

59 Overall Dee Gordon. Only has experience at 2 positions but his fielding vitals let him be an emergency backup everywhere. Plus he's a fantastic pinch runner. Having Ohtani helps so Gordon is the 5th player on my bench, rather than taking one of 4 spots.

51 overall Tyler Mahle. Listed as a starter, but functions as an excellent MR.

Can't hit worth a darn, and it'll be better for the WAR once he stops committing so many errors learning new positions, but Dee is awesome. Currently on my reserve as I train some new players up, but will probably be on my playoff roster if I make it. |

Going to experiment next season by only playing low rated cards. Unfortunately, if I am counting correctly, I think I might have managed promotion so this could go very bad. I originally was going to only use grey cards, but I had two bronze cards that I wanted to continue using so I decided to allow cards up to 63. I'll post my roster below, but I have a few more options coming in via the auction house overnight so it's possible there are changes. 7 of these guys were with me this season and the rest are new.
