The Terriers finished 87-75 and will miss out on the playoffs once again. Surprisingly, the pooches eventually chased down the team bus from Staten Island and we finished one game higher than them, but the rest of the division proved too strong.

Best In Show:
Chris Sale 22-10 2.03era 270k's 8.4war (led the league in wins, k's, and war!!!)
Justin Turner .290 14hr 73rbi

In the Doghouse:
Daniel Zamora 5.64era -0.2war

All around it was a really good season

The Terriers were chomping at the bit for the new league season to begin and have been placed into B262. We think we have a biting chance this year.

Also, because we sent Joey Gallo and Charlie Morton in for a grooming last night, we've been rewarded with two pristine newly-rated pups....
Gallo went from an 89 to a diamond 90
and Morton went from 78 to a golden 81

I'm excited for this season. So much so that I'm considering having the Dog Park sprayed for fleas and ticks at the all star break.

I'm happy with where the Terriers sit at the all star break, 53-42, and alone in the first wildcard spot. There's still plenty of time for a complete meltdown or a rogue Terrier to go beserk and bite a child holding an ice cream cone, but I'll just cross my fingers and hope that doesn't happen.

Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler, and Gabby Hartnett were the three loudest barkers so far this season and have been sent to the all star game.

The flea and tick spraying of the infield sure paid off this year as the Hiram College Terriers have clinched a playoff berth for only the second time in our young five year history.

A box of Milk-bones has been opened in celebration.

Despite having our top dog Chris Sale pitching in the wildcard game, we couldn't stop chasing our own tails and went down 3-2. Overall it was a very good year for the Terriers but not good enough to advance to silver.

Best In Show:

Chris Sale 21-9 2.98ERA 263 K's (most pitching wins in the league!)

In the Doghouse:

Joey Gallo .195avg 27dongers 83rbi's (I hate putting him in the doghouse for 27 bombs, but a .195 average....yikes! But that's what you get from him and I knew that.)

No impending adoptions before next season unless we score some gold gloves or silver slugger awards.

Packs Opened- 67
Perfects- 1
Diamonds- 3
Golds- 3
Silvers- 21

The Terriers have been placed into B241 and have come tearing out of the gate like a bunch of greyhounds. Look at Joey Gallo's numbers so far.....wow! He's still mad I put him in the doghouse after last season so he's out to prove me wrong. He also threatened to bite me if I do it again. Let's hope the team keeps playing well and no one gets distracted by a passing mailman.

I made a couple minor changes prior to the season start as well...

Newly Adopted:
RP Andrew Vasquez 72 (lefty specialist)
LF Jo Jo Moore 68 (platooning with Kepler)

To the Pound:
1b Wes Parker 69
RP Daniel Zamora 68

How prepared are you for the inevitable extended Gallo slump? I worry that would absolutely kill your offense.

Britt Burns, as well as Aaron Sele, are among my favorite back-end budget starters. They don't do too much wrong, and are very capable #4 or #5 guys...and even when he's outlived his usefulness as a starter, I find Burns to be very solid as a reliever.

Personally I don't like having boom or bust guys in my lineup like Gallo, but being an FTP pack only team, I have to take what the baseball gods give me. And they gave me Gallo. Regardless, I've got him only playing against righties and Alex Johnson playing against lefties to try to even out the effects of his eventual slump.

The Terriers have cooled off a bit from their hot start, but still sit in first place in the division at the break. Top Dog Chris Sale is having an off season so I've decided to send him in for a grooming since he's not going to the all star game for once. If the grooming helps and he heats up for the second half.....look out!

Terrier representatives this year include:
Gabby Hartnett
Justin Turner
Zach Wheeler

I ripped 3 packs and only got a bunch of iron and bronze strays with fleas.

It looks like the Terriers are still on track for the playoffs. Typing that better not jinx this team. Anyways, Chris Sale started heating up after the all star break and won pitcher of the month for August. He also had a shared no-no with relievers Andrew Vazquez and Jimmie Sherfy. Apparently Sale went 7 innings before a 66 minute rain delay in which the two relievers came in and finished the game.

The Hiram College Terriers finished 89-73 and made the playoffs for the 3rd time in 6 seasons. We quickly swept the Rotterdam Devils in the division series and await our next opponent. Hopefully we get a chance to add a bronze league trophy to the doghouse seeing as we'll be advancing to the silver leagues next season no matter what.
Go pooches!

The Terriers eliminated the Houston Colt 45's in the championship game and have made it back to the World Series!
Justin Turner won LCS MVP by hitting .345 with 2hr's and 5 rbi's.

Unfortunately I have to go to work for a few hours and won't be able to see the WS results until I get back.
My managerial strategy will be crossing my fingers and hoping I come home to Redbird carcasses littered across the Dog Park and Terriers running amok in jubilation.

Good luck! My Cleveland team is also in a Bronze World Series tonight. I'll be in bed as it finishes...hoping to wake up to good news!

The Dog Park is electric tonight as the Terriers won their bronze league World Series! Most Terriers are running around aimlessly in jubilation while a few others like Sal Bando (who was named the Series MVP) is taking it easy. Chris Sale threw a "rocket game" in which he went 8.1 innings with 1 hit allowed and 15 k's in the deciding game 5.
Tonight we celebrate.....tomorrow we head to silver

I'm still trying to calm everyone down after the team brought home a second championship trophy to Hiram College. Some of the Terriers are still high on Purina Puppy Chow and there's a couple "chew toy hamburgers" that have been ripped to shreds near second base.
Regardless, I was able to adopt a few new faces, and a couple of major changes have been implemented. Joey Gallo will move to first base and will only play against righties. Wes Parker has been readopted for the third time in six seasons to play against lefties at first. This allows Jo Jo Moore to play full time in left field and Alex Johnson will now be spelling Rod Carew at DH from time to time. Obviously I'll be monitoring everything.

Newly Adopted:

SP Lance McCullers Jr- 85
RP Mychal Givens- 79
1b Wes Parker- 69

To the Pound:

SP Britt Burns 76
1b Miguel Cabrera 70
RP Ryan Brasier 67

Packs Opened- 85
Perfects- 1
Diamonds- 3
Golds- 4
Silvers- 23

Oh no! Nobody has showed up to play fetch this season! The Terriers are the worst team in the silver league at 24-44.
Besides the pitching staff running head first into a brick wall for no reason, Joey Gallo has been abysmal, and Max Kepler would rather sniff a rear end than play ball. I've pulled Kepler completely out of the lineup so he'll only be sporadically DHing the rest of the season and I'm forcing Alex Johnson to play right field where he has a rating of 0. He's a more consistent bat than Kepler but he better learn how to fetch balls in right VERY quickly or the Terriers are going to be chasing the team buses back to Bronzeville.

I'm also considering selling Gallo off now while he's worth 4000. I really don't want to deal with boom/bust hitters for the long term.

Yes, I may get bitten tonight by angry dogs.

It's looking like it'll be back to bronze for the Terriers, who won't be getting any treats for their efforts...and yes, put Gallo up for adoption. He's not being a good pup.

Gallo is gone. He's already been sold. I adopted 69 Eddie Mayo to platoon at first base with Wes Parker.
And yes, there's going to be more leash laws at the Dog Park if we get sent back to bronze.
