Switching up the flavor of Kibbles and Bits has sure paid off.
I've got a 10 game winning streak and a happy bunch of Terriers running around the Dog Park.

So far everything seems to be clicking for the Terriers. We're currently leading the AC West by 7.5 games and have a record of 73-50. Chris Sale has already thrown a no-hitter in just his 2nd season at the Dog Park, and we had a whopping 5 all stars.....Sale, Turner, Broglio, Burns, and Brasier. It almost feels like this season is meant for us to compete in the playoffs.

However, I've been playing PT long enough to know just how quickly it can all come crashing down.
All it takes is a mailman or an ice cream truck to pass by the Dog Park at the wrong time and half of my pooches will go running off.
For now, however, I'll let the Terriers keep playing in the on-field sprinklers between innings to keep moral high.

(minor move....I swapped out 1b Matt Adams for 1b Miguel Cabrera a few days ago because Adams came down with fleas and needed to be isolated from the team)

This was an extremely memorable season for the Hiram College Terriers. We finished 102-60 and had the best starting rotation and bullpen in the league. Chris Sale led the league in wins (20) and Ernie Broglio had the best ERA (2.55) and most K's (241). Both players are most definitely in the running for the Cy Young award. Offensively, we finished 2nd or 3rd in most major categories and were once again led by all-star Justin Turner who has solidified himself as the top dog of the bunch. Overall, this has been a very balanced season and I will happily buy each Terrier their own customized golden flea collar once the playoffs end.

Speaking of the playoffs, for the first time in Hiram College history we'll be seeing post season action at the Dog Park! We've earned home field advantage against the Woonsocket Yaks who come in with a record of 81-81 but are red hot winning 8 out of their last 10 games. I'm hoping all the random and mis-timed barking from the pooches will create a true home field advantage.

Best In Show:
Chris Sale 20-8, 6.1 WAR, 238 K's
Ernie Broglio 18-4, 2.55 ERA, 241 K's

In the Doghouse:
Tim Mayza 5.20 ERA, -0.4 WAR (he's the lefty specialist in the bullpen and the only player on the team with a negative WAR)

No significant upgrades have been made to the team for 2 seasons now, but I'm excited to try out 42 potential new Terriers later today. Possibly more if the playoffs go well.

Tails are wagging in anticipation as the Terriers have made it to their first ever World Series!!! The fire hydrants located adjacent to the Dog Park are on overtime duty and an extra box of squeaky toys has been brought in as we face off against the Pittsburgh Pirates!

We took out the Woonsocket Yaks 3 games to 1 in the Division Series, and we eliminated the top seed London Gunners 4 games to 1 in the LCS. Miguel Cabrera scored a triple dinger in game one of that series.

Due to our success in the playoffs, we've been awarded an additional 12 players for possible adoption this evening, making the total a whopping 54 potential Terriers! And possibly more

I'll happily admit I shed a tear as the Hiram College Terriers became the 2022 Iron 150 champions!
Some of the Terriers stayed up to admire the new shiny gold ball....others went to bed all tuckered out.

In the midst of all the celebration last night, 3 unopened player packs were stolen from team headquarters. Being a pack only team, those 3 packs are extremely valuable. A report has been filed with the league office.

Regardless, the Terriers have been slotted into B220 and look forward to the tougher competition this season.

I was able to open 10 packs (should've been 13) looking for Terriers to adopt for the new season.

Newly Adopted:
3b Sal Bando 84- he'll be learning second base
RP Seranthony Dominguez 76

To the Pound:
C Austin Barnes 77
2b Zach Cozart 69
RP Dylan Floro 68
SS Peanuts Lowrey 62

also overnight reliever Tanner Scott went from a 77 to an 81 (yay)

Packs Opened- 45
Perfects- 1
Diamonds- 3
Golds- 2
Silvers- 15

The start to my first bronze season has come with a general lack of focus from the Terriers. We're not doing poorly (28-24) but we're not hitting on all cylinders like we were last year during the championship run. My two superstar pooches, Sale and Turner seem disinterested at times so maybe it's time for another Purina dog chow mix up.
New third baseman Sal Bando is learning to play second base at a snails pace. He's only up to an 18 after two cycles of sims so until things start clicking we're doomed to struggle in the field. Rod Carew is a paltry 28 at second base, so there's really no other option unless I decide to move Turner to second or start letting super utility man Vargas play there. Bando provides some much needed pop, so hopefully he's the answer. There's plenty of time for everything to work itself out this season. In the meantime, I'm going to GM and manage like I normally do......eat over-priced pizza from the concession stand and cross my fingers.

This season has been met with a big "meh" by both the Terriers and myself. Championship hangover? Probably.
We sit at 54-52 which is about as average as it can get. one all star was named for loudest barker, and that was Gabby Hartnett who's batting .302 with 9 HR's and 38 RBI's.
Sal Bando is up to a 26 defensive rating at second base, so by season's end he should be mid 30's. Not good. I'm just going to keep force playing him there until I can unpack an upgrade.
Don't expect much from the Hiram College Terriers as we play out the rest of this "meh" season.

Guess nobody wins the "Best in Show" award this year.

Remember to spay and neuter your opponents.

I was having trouble sitting in the bleachers letting this "blah" season play out. I was also having trouble watching my Terriers running around the diamond sniffing each other and playing grab-ass instead of playing baseball. I also noticed at 74-73 we were one of four teams still within one game of the last wildcard spot with 15 games still to go.
I decided to do something and took my seasons earnings (4,200) and bought 4 card packs. A tiny bit of luck seemed to be on my side as we were awarded adoption rights for 79 SP Zack Wheeler and 79 SP Charlie Morton. Both are live cards, so they'll have to be monitored, but this could be the kick in the pants this team needs to turn this blah season into a playoff season.

Recently Adopted:
79 Zack Wheeler SP
79 Charlie Morton SP

To the Pound:
76 Britt Burns SP
72 Barry Zito SP

Nope, my late season changes did nothing. We finished 82-80 and will sit out the playoffs this year. Charlie Morton pitched well in his 3 starts down the stretch but Zack Wheeler was awful in his 3 starts. Sal Bando is a 36 rating at second base, so at least he's not as bad as Rod Carew's 28. Hopefully another season in bronze will get the Terriers focused.

Best In Show:
Gabby Hartnett .290 16 HR's 66 RBI's

In the Doghouse:
Barry Zito 8-13 5.89 ERA (already sent to the pound)

Just like two seasons ago, I'm starting to sense the Terriers want to compete in the playoffs again. They sit at 39-27 in an extremely competitive division with plenty of time for things to all sort out. Chris Sale and Justin Turner are back to their loud barking ways and Alex Johnson has proven he can fetch the most sticks.
All looks good at the Dog Park. Let's hope this post doesn't jinx it.

The usual pack of Terriers have been rewarded with all star bids:
Chris Sale
Justin Turner
Gabby Hartnett
and first timer Sal Bando

On a side note: nobody's owning up to knocking over a trash can and pulling the contents between first and second base. There's Mcdonald's wrappers and empty capri sun's all over the infield. Officials are investigating while cleanup resumes.

The Terriers have run out of energy chasing the team buses for Staten Island, Fullerton, and Montreal. All three of those teams are loaded with diamond players so it was only a matter of time before we slipped back to the pack. We barked and barked but those buses never stopped. So as we sit here with a 68-65 record with just a month to play, I took my seasons earnings and ripped 4 packs....

Newly adopted:
LF Joey Gallo 89
RF Max Kepler 74
SP Britt Burns 76 (re-adopted)

To the Pound:
RF Rocky Colavito 69
LF Dylan Cozens 63
SP Brice Wilson 71

Gallo brings a 105 power rating and some much needed long ball punch to the team. He'll be platooning with Alex Johnson in left while Kepler will be platooning with Thurman Munson in right.

Packs opened- 56
Perfects- 1
Diamonds- 3
Golds- 3
Silvers- 18
