Would you make this trade?!
I have Chris Sale on my Padres team. I shopped him just to see what interest he would receive. I have been offered a trade, Bumgarner straight up for Sale.
Would you do it? |

isn't that kind of an equivalent for an equivalent? roughly same age and talent. if you simply like bumgarner more than sale... then most of this isn't going to matter. i place no value on names... that may be different.
i'm not interested in an ace for ace type deal. it doesn't do much for the team - it's a mostly net neutral move, so i don't view that as useful. money problems? different situation. otherwise, a trade has to do noticeable good for me to go with it.... i don't want to play musical chairs without gain. in this context, i don't think money is the concern. so, i'd explore other options, maybe my #3 and a couple prospects? now you got 2 aces at the top, instead of just swapping 2. my trades are typically about the future. i'd say within ~6-7 years i have nearly a complete roster turnover. RP age better so they are most of the exceptions along with HoF-quality players i've decided to hang onto regardless of losing some ability over the next few years, but still never when they are clinging without talent. trading is a huge part of that... whenever their return from the trade is greater than a suppplemental pick. |

OP, its hard to say just going by the names.
is either particularly good/bad in your save? or has one had injuryproblems? aside from that, why do you even consider this trade? what do you think u gain? i would imagine that if you are shopping an ace like SP, then you are looking to fill either a glaring hole on the roster or you want to rebuild

100% do that trade. Not even close. Bum > Sale on nearly every level.
