Wow! Choynski is doing way better in your AU than he did in mine. Was he fighting heavyweights too or primarily middleweights and "Light" heavyweights?
In my AU he retired with a record of 20-17-5 (11KOs) and he was 13-6-3 when he fought James J Corbett for the world title. He had some big wins over Bob Fitzsimmons, Bill Doherty, Big Joe McAuliffe, and Phila. Jack O'Brien and scored a 4-rd decision over a 10-0 Jim Jeffries. I had Choynski as a 6 OR with an HP of 6. Cap P.S. According to Joe Walcott, his last name was pronounced Ko-in-ski.

Did a Bit Better in My Historical Uni than in Cap's
In my Uni, which is a historical one, I started him out as a LH and he excelled, winning his first 26 and holding the World LH title for some 11 years (1890-1901). Many of his title defenses were again weaker guys, like the appropriately named Billy Stift, even a few TCs were thrown in as the LH division was very thin in those days. It was only when he began facing higher quality opposition and moved up to HW that he began to struggle, losing to guys like Fitzsimmons, Corbett, Jeffries and the like. Philadelphia Jack O'Brien, another guy that went back and forth between LH and HW, ended his reign as LH Champ, but he did briefly hold a regional HW title, winning on a DQ over Marvin Hart.
His final career record was not too bad: 53-19 (42 KO). I think how well he performed depends on which rating scale used; he's overall a 10 as a LH but just a 5 when using his HW ratings. |
