options to send runner etc

What happened to the part of the game where there used to be 5 or more options per game to send runners and so on? I haven’t seen that option in a bunch of games I’ve played lately like there used to be. Am I missing a setting in the options? Thanks.

On the pre game screen, check to see if you have control of the base running decisions.

I have played quite a few games and started leagues have never have seen such a option. Dont run across it

It is among the rest of the human/computer control options on the main screen before starting a game.

I have also noticed the near elimination of running decisions to me as the human manager - and it is set to human manager controls base running.

I also seeing a number of runners thrown out on the bases, without having been asked if I want to send them.

Not sure what the deal is then. May need one of the development team to explain if something has changed.

It happens way less frequently than in other versions. Also, it may be small sample size, but I've been thrown out 100% of the time when sending a runner in these situations.

When the game prompts you to either hold or send the runner to home, they're out 100% of the time if you choose to send them

Hmmm that has not been my experience - admittedly a relatively small sample size. The objective factors seem to (mostly) control. An OF with a great arm can throw out even a fast runner. And sometimes a guy with no speed can beat an OF with a rag arm. The game seems to give runners a jump with two outs - as it should.

Playing lots of games, I have found that the narrative gives you broad hints on the coaching decision. It can tell you how deep the ball is, and may comment on the OF arm and the runner's speed. If the narrative emphasizes the OF arm, you'd be crazy to send the runner.

I've also learned (and has been confirmed by others with more experience) to disregard the 3D visuals I am seeing. This is particularly true when, for example, the narrative suggests a short fly ball, OF running in, while the poor OF on the graphic is running for the gap. Trust the narrative!

I play a GM/Mgr of my team. This has happened way to often... I am on defense, runners on any of these combos... 1st,2nd,3rd, any the "throw to" option is blacked out.
Then of course... the runner steals a base when on 1st, and or 2nd.

It's still there. Remember, anytime it's an "obvious" play (like Henderson running against a weak armed fielder), you don't get given the option, players simply take the extra base. So if you're given the option, it's going to be a slightly closer play.

Thanks Matt! I am seeing the option coming up substantially less than I used to. Also, I see more runners getting thrown out trying to advance to second or third automatically, without the manager option, more frequently than ever- seems like 1+ times per game.

Same here.
On defense, I'd like the option of throwing to a specific base.
Runner on 1st, batter hits to OF, throw goes to 3rd and batter goes to 2nd. I'd like to keep runner at 1st and have OF hit cutoff and throw to 2nd.
