Historical Comparison with OOTP
I have decided do a comparison of OOTP to Real Life. I have placed it in the Historical simulation section as it is not really a dynasty story as such but just a comparison.
I will run a historic league from 1901 up to 20?? (not sure yet how far I will go). It will have all of the historic functions turned on. This means real transactions, real line ups, real retirement dates. In fact the whole works. I will have the full recalc on, set at 3 years so that the same real players should be the top players as those in real life. I will sim out each season and then compare how the season went in real life to that of OOTP. This will allow me to contrast how different players performed opposed to their real life stats. Also I will compare the final tables, awards and play off results to those of the year in focus. I will also take note of players that have a big career and contrast them to their real stats when they retire so we can check out their career differences. The only slight differences will be the Half of Fame voting starting in 1901 and all pre 1901 players will be eligible for the first 10 seasons. After each season has been played out I will be happy to take any requests for player comparisons if anyone wants to see how their favourite did that season. I am also happy to include other stats for the year if anyone wants a comparison of something. So lets head into 1901 and see the first year's comparison. |

This is a great idea, is the development engine on in your recreation?
Retiring players have remarkably close to real life stats at first glance. Last edited by JaBurns; 08-25-2018 at 10:16 AM. |

Quote:
The first few years the retiring players will have very similar stats as most of the games will have been played prior to the start year of 1901 but hopefully that will change as the years progress. With the historic line ups turned on i don't expect to many differences to the games played though. |
