Historical Free Agency (Les Expos, 1979)
I have commenced with a historical league involving the Expos, with a 1979 start date.
I have disabled free agency and allowed for historical rookies being imported to the team they started with. However, as I am still in year one, I was wondering how free agency is addressed and how I should anticipate player responses upon the conclusion of their contracts. Are players forced to resign with me once the contract is up? Can I only lose them if I release them? Unclear as to how this is handled. I do have 10/5 right of refusal turned on, if that is of any assistance, so I assume a majority of my veterans cannot be sent down if i choose. I assume in that case that I would need to release them if I no longer would like to keep them around but I just want to be prepared for how to handle contract negotiations both during the season and at season's end. Also, regarding the import of historical rookies, is there any way to look forward as to who I have that will be added to my minor league system in the coming year, either within the game or externally (baseball-reference)? Thanks in advance. |
