Does anybody else still use 2D?

I switched to 3D the last few versions and really enjoyed it, even with the small glitches that came about. Haven't been able to figure out the right settings for my PC, can't get an answer on if my graphics card will even support the new game.

On the bright side, I have switched back to classic 2D and had forgotten how much I enjoy the game this way. Text based, not worrying about player movement matching PbP...it has been a refreshing experience! For me that is what the game is about and most fun. Not the new updated parks (which do look awesome) but the core game that gives so much freedom and immersion.

I normally play webcast view, but have recently tried 3d. As much as I enjoy the 'sense of place' of 3d with the updated ballpark appearances, I still prefer webcast view. My eyes just know where to find all the important info. It's faster and easier so managing game-by-game goes a bit more efficiently.

That's the amazing and beautiful thing about the gang at OOTP. They give us so many options to use it's really hard to find something in that conversation to gripe about. So many different ways to play this great game of baseball....And coming (hopefully soon) OOTP GO!. I mean if you like baseball & looking for the one thing that satisfies and one thing you looking for...go no further. It's here in OOTP22

And who is anybody to questions your way of playing?

Thanks again OOTP Crew...Ya'll done it again

When 3d first came out I was against the idea of OOTP going in this direction. I continued to play 2d until 19. Now I can't remember what playing 2d was even like. This year the 3d has taken such a huge leap all I can say is bravo. I have loved this game since version 6.5, and it has been fun watching this game continue grow and improve over the years. This version has passed any expectation I could have thought possible in a baseball game.

I couldn't agree more. Even with needing to upgrade on my end for the new 3D, the game is still so enjoyable it doesn't even really need it.

I’ve never utilized 3D. I don’t platy OOTP for graphics. I play OOTP for a strong simulation experience. The depth of options blows the competition away.

I play only 2D or webcast. For baseball games in 3D (well, 3D projected onto a 2D surface), I prefer to turn on the TV. For real 3D, I used to be able to go to a ball park.

I used 2D in OOTP 21. The 3D just seemed to slow things down on my computer. I have been using 3D thus far in 22 just to experience it, but will probably revert back to 2D once my team starts making the playoffs (I play out every postseason game).

I love 2D classic. Pretty much the only way I play. I like the Webcast method of play as well, but I can't seem to figure out how to avoid the non readable player labels. I don't have the patience to play 3D. 3D blows me away, but I can probably watch 3 or 4 games using 2D in the time it takes to watch a game in 3D. I use short play by play/instant and truthfully I don't read the play by play as much as I skim for the play result.

Me too and I was pretty vocal about it. The 2D was great but I'm fully invested in 3D now.

At one.time.I didn't think I would care about 3d but it is the only way I play now. I play as GM (not manager) and I can watch my team of 1921 players play a game out without ever touching the keyboard until after the final out.
If I played 2d this way, I think I would rather just look at a scoresheet of the game.

Love playing 2D.

Unfortunately, it's a little messed up in this version and is unplayable (at least for me) for the time being. The play-by-play does not match the pitch location. Everything is reversed, for some reason.

Same here. Still play 2D.

Although every year I do give 3D another try.
