Has this ever happened to anyone? I replayed the 2001 season. It started in November, what? The schedule did!!
How did this happen?

League Totals modifiers problem more than likely. Caused by not running auto-calc LTMs before the season started?
Why it started in November? Who knows but suggests something wrong in settings or installation? With this in mind, I suppose it's possible the League Totals themselves are not correct getting messed up during installation? |

Short answer, no. But the fictional league I'm playing now, which was mostly just created by the in-game wizard without much interaction from me, randomly wound up with a lot of small parks and only one or two large ones. I'm about to start the third season. In the first season, right fielder Manny Molano of the Fort Worth Explosion hit 70 home runs (162-game season) and I thought, wow. In the second season first baseman Justin Hensley of the Baltimore River Bandits hit 80.

more offense usually creates more stratification between top-to-bottom. more resolution, you could say from a particular perspective. for years i liked a league ~4era 4.10era... etc.. would ebb and flow to 3.8-4.2ish like recent real mlb years at that time. Nowadays, i like it a little overpowered. The extra difference between categories of players seems to open it up a bit. Someone posted same feelings few years ago.. always felt the same... started implementing it around that time. Still don't see a bunch of 60hr seasons (still probably less than RL rate), for example, so it can be done without whacky numbers. |

Judging from the date the World Series ended, this was a bullpen loop scenario.

I just want to point out as absolutely insanely inflated as all of these offensive statistics are, the real life 2004 Barry Bonds' OBP of .609 still would've been 5th in that league.

Amazing what can happen when an already great player takes enough roids to kill 10 horses. Pitchers flat out refused to pitch to him.

It's a perfect demonstration of how silly "wins" are! I bet lots of those wins involved 20 runs by the Giants. Also, Reggie Sanders' 75 HR and all the rest obviously demonstrate the problem with the stats/engine in this save. But don't forget ol'Bighead walked 198 times that year, and 68 of those were IBB. I don't know how many of those he could have launched, but probably a lot. He had 177 walks the year he set the record too, could have as easily been 100 HR had teams not pitched around him so much.

Yeah, any time I hear an announcer refer to a batter as "the most feared hitter in baseball" I just kind of chuckle to myself, because we all witnessed what true pitcher fear was in 2004 and I doubt we'll see anything quite like that for a long time. We all know why, too, of course... But still.
