USBL Expansion Bids (Poll Question)
I am currently in 2022 off-season of my USBL Fictional Game. I started the league in 1980, then simulated through 2018 season. I took control of the NY Empire franchise and have led them to 4 consecutive USBL Titles. I have decided it's time to expand the league from 24 teams to 26 teams.
I thought it would be fun if you all decide where the next two franchises are placed. I have created a shortlist for the Eastern League and Western League. Each League will have two divisions of 4 teams and one division of 5 teams. I will eventually, over time, expand to 30 teams, so each division will have 5 teams. Please Vote For One Team From Each Group of 4. Here is the what the league is like now... Here are the 8 teams competing for a franchise... Last edited by Klew1986; 08-23-2019 at 11:39 AM. |

Holy crap man, your logos are off the chain. Very cool league.
I like the Flyers/Chargers in the East, and the Colts/Bisons in the West a lot. |

They aren’t my logos. I found them and give credit to those who created them for all of us to use.

One of the things I know has always been an issue in real life MLB expansions are the overlaps with existing media markets. Obviously all of those are relatively close to major markets, but I think New Orleans makes the most sense for your eastern expansions (no overlap with Raleigh or Grand Rapids/Cincinnati/Indianapolis.)
As far as the west goes, my initial instinct is Austin (because one team in Texas is too few), but that feels like that's a lot of expansion on Houston's doorstep. I'd probably go Tuscon to expand into newer territory. |

I'm a fan of good logos, so my vote is New Orleans and Tucson

Austin is the winner for the West team.
Cleveland and Detroit are tied in voting for the East. Last edited by Klew1986; 08-25-2019 at 02:45 PM. |

I just broke the tie for you. Cleveland Crows.
Just an FYI regarding expansion, I know in the past when I've tried to expand, the game won't allow you to have an uneven number of teams in each league. So if you're only planning to add 2 teams this year....both of them have to be either in the Eastern league or both have to be in the Western league. It won't allow just one in each. At least that's how I seem to remember it going the last time I tried expanding. |
