Developing Prospects
How exactly does one develop young players properly in this game?
My 5 star potential prospects ALWAYS go down in potential no matter what I do. Also their abilities barely improve no matter how much I train them, how much ice time I give them, and so on. The 5 star prospects become 3 1/2 star prospects in the matter of one season. This happens every single time I start a sandbox game. What is the best way to develop young players in this game? |

Declining potential like that is usually the correction of scouting error - there are ways that potential itself can decline, but they're not anything you can affect directly.
As far as improving their abilities goes, keep in mind that playing them on a level they're not ready for (e.g., when they're at 0.5 or 1 stars) can hurt their development speed - it may be better in that case to keep them on the farm/junior team/reserve list until they get a little better. Having coaches with good Coaching Prospects ratings will also help, as will extra training focus. |
