Every International Discovery
Scout: This guy might be worth taking an extended look at. He's only got 2 pitches, but both of them are absolutely terrible. He couldn't hit the pool if you let him throw it from the diving board, and he'll never be anything but a warm body in our organization. I just wanted to stop everything to let you know my report!
Me: ....thanks? Has anyone ever had an initial solid report? I realize they could eventually become useful players, but I've never seen anyone more than 1 star at first, in all my years with this game. |

Discoveries you won't really know about until 5 to 7 years later if they are found at 16.
Some might pop to all stars, some will be minor Leaguers, and most will never make it. |

True. But there’s a much higher likelihood they become good players when they have 3, 4 or 5 star potential. I think he was talking about getting all half star potential discoveries.

The initial report on them is probably outdated. Scouting reports have been tweak in the last few years to not totally crap on prospects. Not sure if this was touched or not for international findings. Last edited by SirMichaelJordan; 04-06-2020 at 06:43 PM. |

Last year with OOTP 20, I do not think I did get one decent report.
But my guy did find an impressive prospect within 2 years of my save , it is 2021 in MLB land for my universe. The guy is a power bat with discipline; I short listed him to remind me that he is in the international complex, but I think he is still only 17; I do not promote to Rookie league till they are 18. Note, I do not use the *Stars*; In my opinion, they give the player too much of a handicap against the AI at this point. Since I dropped them, I have enjoyed the player research more and the game in general. Last edited by Calvert98; 04-06-2020 at 07:02 PM. |

Pretty interesting idea, IÂ’ve seen the setting in the options screen. So, what does it just take the star rating away and all the other ratings are the same as they would be?

I might drop ratings. And my scout is great and I do pump up my scouting and development budgets.
I just think it's funny that the scout basically writes a report that makes it seem like the kid doesn't even know what baseball is, followed by "he'll never make it" or a similar description, yet he goes ahead and signs him. The 1 and half-star descriptions are so negative it's hilarious that he's even considered a "prospect" at all. |

I have played since OOTP16, and for the first time this year I got a blue chip international find. An 80 potential reliever (100% accuracy, don't judge me) who has great everything except control, and a mediocre 3rd pitch. First time I've ever had someone found that I realistically expect to have a role on my major league team at some point.
