Constant CTD preventing continued play...
I'm into the third season of my solo league and for some reason, I cannot get past the current date on the schedule. I'm to play the Marlins and if I try to auto sim the game, I experience a CTD. If I try to manually play the game, the opening screen will appear and I see the creating face gen box with Josh Johnson's name, but then I once again experience a CTD. I tried restarting the game and my PC, I tried tweaking some face gen options thinking that was the problem, but still crashes. I'm playing the game on my notebook which is a Toshiba with 4g ram, dual core, plenty of drive space, and besides I play more pc hardware demanding games than this one, so I'm not certain if it is a compatibility issue at this point. Any suggestions on what might be hanging the game up at such a specific point in the game?
I do not know if this will help but I clicked on problem details on the crash screen and came up with this: Fault Module Timestamp: 4e37f55c Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0051a9f4 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Last edited by J P Falcon the 3rd; 08-23-2011 at 05:32 PM. |

That's a memory access error (denoted by the C0000005). My suggestion is doing sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt, as something isn't handling the memory correctly. With luck, you'll find a file that needs fixing and that command will do it for you.
Assuming you recently went through the .NET updates, that may be the source of the problems. You may want to uninstall and reinstall those as well if the first method doesn't work, although ostensibly sfc should check those as well iirc. If you are notified of a file that couldn't be fixed, one approach is to reinstall the OS (use the UPGRADE option to reinstall, as this will retain your programs and settings). Another way is to find spot fixes, but that gets a lot more difficult. Hopefully something above helped out, or someone smarter than myself has another way to fix the problem.
