Smile OOTP 11 Patch Version 11.1.8 Released!

Hey friends,

we've just released the first real patch for OOTP 11, version number 11.1.8.

Simply download the update and run it. In the installer dialog select the install location of your current OOTP 11 version and after the patcher is finished, launch OOTP. That's it! The patcher does not overwrite any saved games or custom data which is not part of this update.

Note that you cannot apply this update if you purchased a boxed version, or downloaded the game from Gamer's Gate. Updates on those platforms will be provided by the publisher (Viva) directly. http://www.viva-media.com/?title=support

- Database settings on database info page moved to a more visible place
- Added option to deactivate baseball cards

Awesome list of fixes.

Just wondering if the issue in This thread was resolved in this patch as well. It would make me an extremely happy person if it were.

I should know this by now, but when it says "patcher does not overwrite any saved games or custom data which is not part of this update" the changes will still affect (fix) my game or will I need to start a .lg all over?

It often depends on the fix. Which fix are you referring to?

Nothing in particular really, just wanting to know if I can apply the patch and have confidence that the changes will take effect, or do you recommend creating new .lg? I am only a week or so into a new .lg so no great loss if I have to start anew. Please advise.

Awesome job!!!!

I found one small bug this morning. I created an expansion team for my fictional league, the Miami Tropics. They played their first season, 1915, in Miami and then after the season they immediatly got moved to San Diego. But after the move all the data from the 1915 season changed to San Diego. All players stats, the standing, everything was San Diego. There is no ackowledgement that they were ever even in Miami for 1915. Even simming ahead a few years, nothing. The only thing was whatever players were picked in the expansion draft or entry draft during the 1915 season said, "drafted by Miami Tropics."

Not sure that's a bug but more of a design side-effect. Markus already commented on this in another post. When a team moves, the last seasons worth of data from the old city is attributed to the new city in the reports. At least I think that's how I remember it.... Doesn't sound like it's something that can be changed for this version...

Thanks for the response! Sorry if this isnt the correct place on the board for this issue.

I've moved teams in the past manually. Usually after Jan. 1st in the offseason and before spring training. Never had this issue before. When the computer moves teams or changes nicknames, it seems to happen right after the regular season ends. Which I think is why the previous seasons' data gets messed up. When you move a team after Jan. 1st I'm pretty sure this issue doesnt arise.

Not for nothing, but the history for the MLB quick-start is still screwed. Still shows Phillies beating the Yanks 4-0 in the 2009 World series and Yanks do not show up as 2009 WS champs.

I know my beloved Yankees are hated on and despised but for history sake can this get fixed? Please?

Despite this error thanks for the patch Markus!!!

What's really impressive is how minor these fixes are. I don't mean to imply they're unimportant to the people who encountered the problems and/or logged them, but look at this list -- this is really small, detailed stuff! The same was true of the previous patch.

Wonderful work, Markus!

I would have thought that they would have gotten that one right. Can you tell me, did they update the 2009 awards so that they are reflected upon the player's awards page?

I believe this is something that Markus is going to tweak, although I am not sure what patch it is in. See his post here from 4/13:

This is one of the main reasons I have purchased every version of this game since the original OOTP. Simply great dedication to the product and always tweaking it to make it better!

Thanks for all you do, Markus!

Looks like the player awards earned in 2009 are not reflected in the players personal awards section as well. Bummer!

Markus, I was told that you were able to fix the "Force Start" issue that caused the manager to ignore GM commands. Is this true? Also, if it is true, will the fix work in an already on-going saved game?

Thanks for checking on that. It is unfortunate that they did not fix this part of the game.
