Can't load players file in my save

I started a new fictional game with the real world setup of MLB and a handful of other teams. Did a franchise draft to start then played from there. Got about 40 games into the inaugural season and now when I try to open the file it stops at 50% loading with a popup saying "An error occurred while loading the database! Could not load players file". I don't know if it's related, it might be, but over the course of playing this file the game would crash very regularly. It happened everyday or every other day in game, but I did have it autosave after every day so I never lost progress and that made it fairly easy to ignore. This is purely me speculating, but I think those crashes may have been caused by the game attempting to generate fictional pictures. About 80% of the time the game crashed, it was after I had managed a game and progressed a day, then attempted to check in-game mail.

FWIW I've had previous issues with OOTP19 crashing on me but I don't think those issues are related to this current one. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=287183
