Another option is Football Mogul 2016. The 2017 version is due out very soon.

I didn't even realize they made Football Mogul anymore. Ironically the Mogul series is actually how I found out about text sims and later OOTP. I decided after years of playing a GM in graphics games that text sims actually made a lot of sense, but reading reviews for Mogul before I bought it lead me to OOTP. It was a match made in heaven.

I believe the game was originally designed to let users sim out different scenarios. So if you like playing out fictional games in OOTP in commissioner mode and seeing the leagues evolve, it might be worth giving this game a try.

The in-game engine is not bad. It includes a lot of things that other games drop the ball on like 2-point conversions and onside kicks. The AI play calling needs work though, especially late in the game, but the developer has promised to fix it in the next version.

Plus there is a companion college game that is about to be released.
