MVP Logic

Is there a category that out weights others when the computer determines who should be the MVP?

Using OOTP Engine and not using Historical Player Ratings.

Who should win the MVP? Clearly i would say Albert Belle but Griffey won? What category would make him win it? WAR??

Yeah Griffey absolutely deserves to win that one. Not particularly close either. A LF/DH with nearly identical offensive numbers to a CF? The CF should win every time in that case.

I think it relies almost totally on the WAR value. I had a pitcher that won the triple crown but not the Cy Young award.

Griffey has the edge on WAR and substantially so. The rest of the categories are very close.

Griffey certainly better defensively as well. How about their teams - was Griff on a winner and Belle not in the playoffs?

Either way, I don't see it as an upset for Griff. Close but reasonable choice given the above.

Yea, the big factor that isn't on that screen is Defense...and that is factored into WAR.

Belle has the little advantage in offense, but Griffey has a big edge in fielding/position advantage. This is basically the Trout vs Cabrera issue that came up in MLB a few years ago when Cabrera won the triple crowd.

RL-1994 divisional setup? If so, how did both the Indians and Mariners finish the regular season?
