Fictional League Team Names

I want to start a solo league that has fictional teams and players.

Whenever I try to do this though, I can never think of enough team names and cities to use.

Anyone who would like to help out, could you give me ideas for teams?

I'm looking at a 24 team league, with AAA, AA, A, and SA.

I also want to add a Japanese league with AAA, A, and R.

Both will have college and high school feeders.

There will be some other independent international leagues, but I'll have to game randomize those cities and names.

So, just through some ideas out there please.

I'm taking it your stateside so why not places within your state making it a state league, the minors and such you could also have state leagues but use states you've visited or have family in or from. Japanese league, why not use the birthplaces of Japanese major league players, using Ichiro as an example you could have the Kasugai Hitters.

Go to the Mods forum and look at the endless supply of Logo's and uniforms. All have names. You could create a league with 100's of teams and never run out of names.

To start listing them here would be futile as there's just too many.

ABA 2000 is(or was) a basketball minor league(I guess its still around) and every other day there are teams folding. Hundreds of teams have folded over the last 13 yrs.

I pretty much live off of baseball-reference and the 'teams' page, in particular, for this sort of thing...

Northern Division

Boise City Fruit Pickers
Chicago Unions
Wichita Aviators
Ann Arbor Collegians
St. Paul Saints
Green Bay Blue Sox

Eastern Division

Jersey City Skeeters
New York Mutuals
Charlotte 99ers
Philadelphia Centennials
Bristol Bell Makers
Chesapeake Colonials

Southern Division

Tuscaloosa Capitals
Little Rock Travelers
Orlando Bulldogs
El Paso Sun Kings
Athens Millers
Baton Rouge Cajuns

Western Division

Lincoln Railsplitters

Unsure what kind of names you were after, most are real nicknames of teams that used to play there with some nicknames down to historical relevance example being Charlotte 99ers, in 1799 a large gold nugget was found which led to the first gold rush in the USA in around 1802.
