The Premier Baseball League-1970
(This is a continuation of a game I started with a league called the NABL. I decided it was time for a change with the same American Conference team winning the NABL title 4 or 5 times a decade. [unfortunately it wasn't my team] I will be posting how my team looks and whats going on at a later time. Feed back is welcome!)
The North American Baseball League was beginning to deteriorate. By August of 1966 the league was already starting to fall apart and players were staring to get uneasy. The league began in 1908 and was running strong for years. But with the Boston Patriots seemingly running the league some of the fans saw it getting to be boring. From 1908 to the end of the 1966 the Boston Patriots ran wild and won 23 NABL league titles and 13 of them came from 1949-1966. On August 9, 1966 an English billionaire by the same of Mansel David invested money into the dying league for it to get revamped. After Boston defeated Indianapolis 4 games to 2 in the play-offs baseball took a 3 1/2 year hiatus and now in January of 1970 (our beginning point) the new Premier Baseball League is ready to begin. 30 teams are ready to fight for the rights to become the inaugural PBL Champions! NABL Past Winners 1908-Boston Patriots 1909-Boston Patriots (2) 1910-Philadelphia Stallions 1911-Chicago (NC) Black Cats 1912-Chicago (NC) Black Cats (2) 1913-Houston Steers 1914-Dallas Texans 1915-Houston Steers (2) 1916-Dallas Texans (2) 1917-Kansas City Hotspur 1918-Omaha Comanches 1919-Atlanta Hammers 1920-Atlanta Hammers (2) 1921-Atlanta Hammers (3) 1922-Las Vegas Blackjacks 1923-Dallas Texans (3) 1924-Indianapolis Kings 1925-Buffalo Rhinos 1926-Dallas Texans (4) 1927-Boston Patriots (3) 1928-Boston Patriots (4) 1929-Minnesota Miners 1930-Boston Patriots (5) 1931-Indianapolis Kings (2) 1932-Phoenix Firebirds 1933-Miami Cyclones 1934-Seattle Rioters 1935-Boston Patriots (6) 1936-Minnesota Miners (2) 1937-Boston Patriots (7) 1938-Chicago (NC) Black Cats (3) 1939-Chicago (NC) Black Cats (4) 1940-Boston Patriots (8) 1941-Oakland Reds 1942-Houston Steers (3) 1943-Washington Cardinals 1944-Boston Patriots (9) 1945-Boston Patriots (10) 1946-Kansas City Hotspur (2) 1947-Detroit Mafia 1948-Oklahoma (AC) Red Devils 1949-Boston Patriots (11) 1950-Boston Patriots (12) 1951-Boston Patriots (13) 1952-Boston Patriots (14) 1953-Boston Patriots (15) 1954-Boston Patriots (16) 1955-Houston Steers (4) 1956-Boston Patriots (17) 1957-Boston Patriots (18) 1958-Dallas Texans (5) 1959-Detroit Mafia (2) 1960-Boston Patriots (19) 1961-Chicago (NC) Black Cats (5) 1962-Boston Patriots (20) 1963-Boston Patriots (21) 1964-Indianapolis Kings (3) 1965-Boston Patriots (22) 1966-Boston Patriots (23) Has you can see the Boston Patriots dominated the NABL for years, amassing 23 World Championships. But with the new PBL will they be able to continue their dominance? Or has the new owner of the PBL Mansel David opened up the door for more teams to claim baseballs biggest prize.

The Inaugural Season of the Premier Baseball League was successful...more successful then any one associated with it could have ever imagined. The Indianapolis Kings, who began the new era with a new GM by the name of Tyler Cox finished the year with a Division title and a record of 89-73, a winning percentage of .549. The Kings were 13 games ahead of their closest division rivals, the Phoenix Firebirds.
Catcher Su-hyeon Chung led the team with a batting average of .319, 16 home runs, and 109 RBI s. Pitcher Anthony West led the team in wins with 16 and 107 strikeouts while Taisuke Nokawa had an era of 4.05. Three Kings players made it to the All-Star game, Taisuke Nokawa, Su-hyeon Chung, and Steven Holt. The team had a batting average of .275, an On Base Slugging of .745 (3rd best in NC), 803 runs scored (4th best in NC), a lowly 75 Home Runs, and a 4.21 ERA. The race to become the first PBL Champions began with Indy vs Seattle and Las Vegas vs Nashville from the National Conference. The American Conference games saw New Orleans vs Oakland, and Oklahoma vs Detroit. Indianapolis won their Quarter Final game 3 games to 1 after losing the first to Seattle. They would go on to face Nashville in the Semi-Finals and Oakland would face Detroit in the other Semi-Final. The prospect for an all mid-west final was looking good. However, Oakland defeated Detroit 4-1 and Indianapolis jumped out to a 3-0 lead only to win 4-2. This set the stage for Indianapolis's first final since they last won the title in 1964. Indy knew going into this that is was going to be a struggle. Thy would begin away to Oakland, and Oakland had not been beaten at home in the play-offs, and only lost once since the play-offs began. Indy took game 1 at Oakland 3-1 after an extra inning. Game 2 was also in Oakland, and Oakland leveled up the series with a 2-1 win. Indy hosted game 3 and once more it took the Kings extra innings to see off Oakland 3-2. The Kings won game 4 by 7-2, the biggest margin of the final to take a 3-1 lead in the series and needed only one more win to take home the championship. A chance to win the title at home was squandered and Oakland took a crucial game 5 by a 5-4 score. Game 6 was in Oakland and the hosts leveled up the series 3-3. It was a series for the ages and it was going to come down the final game. Oakland looked to game full advantage of their spectacular home record but Indy denied them of that. a 7-1 win helped along with 3 home runs from Chung saw Indy lift high the trophy on the road. It was scenes of pure ecstasy for the team and for the traveling fans.
