28 Team 162 Game Interleague Schedule Request

This is for my EBL league. 2 leagues 2 subdivisions per. 28 teams with interleague. I would like either to play 4 games 2H2A vs each team from the other subleague or a rotating schedule where we play the AL west one year then the AL East the next. I plan on using this schedule for the next 4 yrs. All Star game in July sometime. Season starting after April 1st ending after October 3rd.

The 7 teams per division makes this really difficult. You can't really have 9 vs. some teams in division and 12 versus others since team 7 gets left out.

It has to be balance in division.

What I came up with:

168 games:
42 Interleague games (7 teams x 6 games 3H/3A) AL west year 1, AL East year 2
Or 6 teams x 6 games, skipping one team each year in interleague.

42 Conferences games (7 teams X 6 games 3H/3A)
84 League Game (6 teams X 14 games 7H/7A)

This is the only way I can see to attempt this. It will still be difficult since each team is going to either group of games will have a conference or interleague game in them.

Let me know if the extra games will be a problem.

If nothing else, I can have interleague just play 6 of the 7 teams in the AL East and just skip one team each year.

Another way to get to 162 games =

You play everyone in your conference 12 times 6H/6A That's 13*12 = 156

You would play two teams IL = 3H 3A = 6

162 total

This would actually be the easiest schedule to create, 2 schedules, 1 vs AL east and 1 vs AL west

Couldn't you just have each team play 13 against each division team? You have 6H/7A or 7H/6A in that case, but we have division rivals playing odd numbers of games in MLB right now and no one seems to mind. That would bring you down by six games to the desired 162.

This looks like it will work.

I'll put together a workbook and see if I get the correct number of H/A games for all teams. I was concerned that mixing and matching odd H/A in a division of 7 teams would cause issues. It looks like I can make each team play 3 teams 7H and 3 teams 6H.

Thanks for the idea.

I think I figured it out.

My issue is there is always a division team that can't play in division.

1v2
3v4
5v6
7v ....

So what I'm going to do is pair the lone team from division 1 with the x+7 team in division 2.

1-8
2-9 etc

There are 4 division series per team. so when it's 1v2, 3v4, 5v6, 7 will play 7+7=14.

when it's 1v2 3v4 5v7 (or something like that) 6 plays 13.

So team 1 will be alone 4 times, but there are only 2 conference series. So I will do the same thing with a team from interleague.

The first two times 1 is alone, it's plays 1+7 (8). Then next two times it's alone it plays 1+14 (15).

so I will have these 4 series already done.
1-8
2-9
3-10
4-11
5-12
6-13
7-14

and
1-15
etc

When scheduling conference games and Interleague I'll just skip those.

I'll keep working on this, I should be good now.

Year 1, team 28, games 162

Hello,

Here is year 1. I will create year two with teams playing the opposite division in interleague.

Setup:

Teams 28
2 Sub Leagues
4 Divisions
7 Teams per division

Each team plays 78 Division games, 13 vs 6 teams, either 6H/7A or 7H/6A
Each team plays 42 Conference games, 3H/3A vs 7 teams
Each team plays 42 Interleague games, 3H/3A vs 1 division from the other league.

162 games.

No hurry. i am still in September of my current season i am looking at preseason to be around November 10th timeframe. i just like to make requests early so people who have the time to do them have enough time to work on them before i get to the point to where i need them. Almost sounded like Yogi Berra there.
