I think a committe of sorts should be selected, and then after leagues submit their noms, the committe decides who's in.
Also, sim the league for about 10-20 years, and then have it start. That way, people would have to judge players based on their past performance. It'd make it pretty hard. |

That's why I said that. I've seen a league that does it, and it's very hard.

Another idea that branches away, but is similar...
Create a league structure where you could "import" various owners' teams from various leagues so you could essentially create an ultimate league with 20+ dynasties from various leagues battling it out. Could set it just to replay and play out a season or so... not sure how well it'd work to keep it ongoing past a season given the ridiculous talent levels. The major problem is it probably would have to be limited to fictional teams unless having a half dozen players with the same name isn't an issue.

I would think we would want to stay away from importing teams into this new league. Each league has different talent levels so I'm unsure if it could really be fair to all.

Well, I'll start to work on getting this thing started. First thing to get started now is to find out how many league's are participating. So for every league interested, please have the commish nominate a rep based either on an owner vote or else record, number of championships won, etc. We'll want one person from each league.
I'll also start contacting people that have said they are interested in helping with the league. Thanks!

HFTC would like to nominate GoPads, our San Deigo GM.
We recognize the playoffs are mostly just a crapshoot and while GoPads has no HFTC titles, he has far and away shown to be in our 7 year history the most consistent winner in the league. In the 7 seasons of the league existence 678-1134 for a .598 winning percentage 7 consecutive .500+ seasons 6 straight playoff appearances 5 division titles (3 consecutive is current steak) 2 NL titles 3 100+ win seasons We are currently just beginning the playoffs of our 7th season. So GoPads could be adding onto his resume soon. I should note this is an always full 30 GM league, I don't believe we have ever even had a sim with a PC team (opening are filled immediately and/or have occurred in the offseason). So these are no small accomplishments. GoPads has accepted our nomination. I'll ask him to post here so the organizers could contact him when necessary. |

ISBL would like to nominate Buhner2005 , our Oakland GM.

I'd be willing to help organize things, but as I'm mostly a newbie to the OOTP community, I doubt you'll need me.

And just to add, even if you're not the commish, contact your commish if you'd like to see you're league participate.

Excellent idea!! I am commish of Asahi League2 but I wouldn't be able to nominate anyone for at least another 4 or 5 seasons being that we're in our inaugural season.
