I wonder how you'll be able to do the ratings for the players, as the stts for that league is hard to find at best

Indeed, stats regarding negro league players are hard to come by. There are a few books out there that are useful, however. The main reference books I am using to create the players are (1) The Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Baseball Leagues by James Riley, (2) The Complete Book of Baseball's Negro Leagues by John Holway, (3) Only The Ball Was White by Robert Peterson, and (4) Blackball Stars by John Holway.

The comments used in the player profiles section come mainly from the Negro League Encyclopedia. (If you don't have this book, I would recommend getting it!!).

http://negro-league.net/profiles.htm

I am also in the process of obtaining a Mexican League Encyclopedia which may be useful. (I have three pretty detailed books about the Cuban League).

The old UBL files might be of help as it began around 1930 and I extensive researched the players as I created them.

Just an idea. I have those old files if it'd help.

BTW, I would appreciate any ideas for the website and/or league.

I am looking for additional "eye-candy" for the site, especially for the team pages. I believe I have pictures of all of the stadiums that will be used, but I am still looking for pictures of uniforms for all 8 teams.

Also, it looks like I still need to find free online draft software, so if anyone can help with that, I would appreciate it.

Also, I would really like a picture of John Beckwith. I have searched the internet for days and have been unable to find a pictuure of "The Mad Bomber."

Thanks!

Just curious....Approximately how many Negro League players did you create? Did your league also start in 1930?

In addition to working on the player profile pages, I am working on the layout for the Team Pages. Here is what I have done so far, but will likely add stadium info to the page as well other bits of info.

Just curious, what information do you guys like on team pages?

Here's a link to one of the team pages on the Pro Circuit site.

I got it from one of my owners (the layout), so feel free to use it if you like.

Found a picture of John "the Mad Bomber" Beckwith. However, the quality of the image is not that good. Perhaps someone can make it look a little better. Here is the picture:

Here is the USBA's version...
http://usba.ootp-online.com/inc/WICteam.htm

I keep award winners, All-Stars, and first round draft picks on it. Also, I keep a log of the current GM's win-loss record and playoff appearances. Most of the teams in the USBA have just one owner after 10 seasons but for those that don't, I keep records of that as well.

Update...

Still working on the website and the league file. League is still a few weeks away.

Tonight, I worked on revamping the team pages. Here is what the KC page looks like so far.

http://negro-league.net/kc.htm

Please note that I am still going to add a lot more info to these pages, including pictures of various "Hot Spots" from the 1930s for each city.

In terms of help, I wonder if anyone has created Negro League Uniforms. I would love to add that to the team pages.

Additionally, I am debating about replacing the Atlanta ABCs franchise with either the Indianapolis ABCs or Birmingham Black Barons. (Atlanta didn't join the Negro Leagues until 1932 or 1933, while the other two cities had a strong presence in the negro leagues in 1930).

8 pictures of Kansas City added to the Monarchs team page. Check out the page here:

http://negro-league.net/kc.htm

Does anyone like/dislike this idea? Should there be less/more pictures?

Went to the library and picked up a few really good books on the Negro Leagues. Here are some of the pictures that I scanned:
