well id like to have pay leagues with historical players and even real players but the main concern i had was i dont want MLB coming after me for copyright infringement lol.....all i need is Barry Bonds dumb butt knocking on my door telling me i dont have permission to use his likeness lol

BUT.....its not out of the question, im looking at legal "things" to see if there would be an issue

I mean if that butthead Bonds can make MLB stop using his likeness, who knows what a "Joe Schmoe" like me will be allowed to do

All logos/graphics - make sure the art used is not "borrowed" from the web.

Double check the OOTP TOS.

Be ready for tempers and conflict.

Lofty goal and the only thing that would concern me is if you have enough time to manage something like this when running multiple leagues. Good luck!

If you're not profiting from the league, you're in no different position than any other league regarding using real players.

Problem is he's using some of the money to pay for the webspace. So to pay for a hobby...as in personal use. The people aren't just gambling, they're paying to play. Might be better to make all the league dues be in the pot and ask for donations for the webspace?

well i may not be "profiting" from the league but when someone else is getting paid to play, that is the problem.

As for the fictional "stuff" like graphics and anything concerning the terms of service, i looked over everything i could find and found nothing about this idea, and the graphics and all, well there arent any logos yet but i have a friend of mine that may help out, if not then i will go from there concerning the logos. But yes i am making sure that im covering my butt on this.

I handle the graphics and the setup. I am also the webmaster / host of the leagues. I do not get my "images" from the internet except in the case that I have paid for them free and clear.

This really sounds like a great idea, and as a player of tons of fantasy sports, and someone who enjoys playing OOTP this would be great.

If only so many of the OOTP players weren't high school students, we could possibly afford something like this. In time, and I hope this works for you.
